Return of the Shakturi installation fails

I have just bought Distant Worlds 2: Return of the Shakturi, but could not install it.
there is a mismatch between the installer version of ROS and D2 version. The first is 1.2.6.7 and the second is 1.0.6.4 (setup) or 1.2.7.7 (update). This cause The installer to fail with the message that v 1.2.6.7 of D2 is needed, but this version is nowhere on the download page.

I ran into the same issue. I just installed the update and applied the serial# in the screen and everything seems to be okay. RotS shows as installed on the screen.

It is a bit confusing, but understandable.

I don't understand how could you install the DLC. The installer only gives two options: Open website and close (screenshot annexed).

As per the installation screen instructions, we recommend downloading the latest update for the base game, v1.2.7.7, which can be found in the File Downloads section of your My Page on the Slitherine/Matrix Games website. The installer for this update is a MultiUpdateInstaller and has the functionality to install base game updates and any DLCs you have purchased and wish to activate.

At this point the main Shakturi DLC installer we don't recommend using as it's compatible with an older version of the game. The update installers for the base game should handle your DLC installation needs at this point.
