RE: Build 4.6.276 Feedback

I'm sorry to report I still have my problem with units defaulting to face north on orders and the problem getting units to cross ferries. It's late here but I'll try and video the problems tomorrow if that might help.

RE: How powerful are the Household Cavalry Armoured Cars?

I'd like to hear more about the fixes and more about how widely the issue went. For example playing Axis in Assault on the Sauer I've been having dreadful trouble dealing with m18s, Stuarts, HTs etc even in conditions I would have thought favourable to infantry.

RE: Question about armor clashes in BFTB

<t> Well in my case the scenario was 60 hours long to allow for retreats and yes the Shermans did retreat but were mercilessly sent back into battle until all of of them or the panthers were dead. I thought the results reasonable enough even if the game as Jim points out doesn't really model on the ...

RE: Question about armor clashes in BFTB

<r> Hi bug testing another issue I created a test scenario which put a british comy of shermans plus fireflies up against a panther coy. Both units had equal training etc and were in the elite category <br/>

"Preliminary results suggest that panthers cream shermans as might be expected; won ...

RE: Bulge Axis reading

<t> thanks Lieste - looks like some are available on amazon but the prices are eye-watering and I don't think the relevant vol is out yet [:(]<br/>
<br/>
<br/>
When it is maybe a trip to the local library will help - they can order books from libraries all over the UK for a small charge.<br ...

RE: Bulge Axis reading

<r> I think you'll find the Germans have written plenty about the war but it's rarely translated into English. There's for example offcial histories of first and second world wars published by this lot (if your German is up to it - mine isn't I was kinda hoping they may have translated some in ...

RE: At night TLOS seems improbable

<t> the allied unit's footprint barely extends beyond the icon as far as I can see. As you say effective fire is unlikely and even though my unit retreated no damage was incurred and the move was just slowed. It's nearly always possible to rationalise an event. This is not just infantry moving ...

RE: At night TLOS seems improbable

<r> I've just encountered a similar example of possible over optimistic LOS. In my case there's light fog too. Sturm coy 988 is under fire from Eng A9 but there's woods and village and maybe 300m between them. 988 is set to min aggression. No casualties. I can email a save if desired.<br/>

RE: why hasn't these attacks happened yet?

<t> Thanks Lieste - I think they're still awaiting orders as per normal. I looked back and found I hadn't ordered all to advance at much the same time as I believed I had and moreover hadn't issued any new orders until much later. I mistook the time new orders were logged as acknowledgement of my ...

why hasn't these attacks happened yet?

<r> Further to the thread about units not moving I seem to have I seem to have an example to report. All the inf companies in the pic report they got new attack orders between 0817hr and 0835hrs yet at 0953 still nothing has happened. Command Delay is set to realistic. One unit from the same bn ...

nah. It's a little indie opensource freeware thing. Loads of opportunities to install legitimate but crap software during the installation but seems to work well enough. Managed to cap some already reported bugs in action.

RE: Recording Video

In the meantime I can report success with freeware CamStudio recording 48 mins of scenario start to finish. 5 frames/sec and No sound - can change that. 78MB size. Plays in MPC. Looks a good tool for AARs and bug hunting [:D]

RE: Hard to Get Units Moving??

Some sort of recording setup that could record the game would be ideal for bug hunting.

It's true what phoenix says though, this game is better than ever and highly playable despite some problems. Over 10 years since RDOA and there is still nothing like it.
