Hard to Get Units Moving??

Command Ops: Battles From The Bulge takes the highly acclaimed Airborne Assault engine back to the West Front for the crucial engagements during the Ardennes Offensive. Test your command skills in the fiery crucible of Airborne Assault’s “pausable continuous time” uber-realistic game engine. It's up to you to develop the strategy, issue the orders, set the pace, and try to win the laurels of victory in the cold, shadowy Ardennes.
Command Ops: Highway to the Reich brings us to the setting of one of the most epic and controversial battles of World War II: Operation Market-Garden, covering every major engagement along Hell’s Highway, from the surprise capture of Joe’s Bridge by the Irish Guards a week before the offensive to the final battles on “The Island” south of Arnhem.

I haven't noticed any issues like I did, say, two years ago. This game is definitely improving all the time, and is still, for me, far and away, the best wargame ever, of any sort (for me). At one point, over two years ago, I also thought it was a case of fix one thing and another pops up. But it doesn't seem like that now. In the past the issues were game killers. In terms of game-breaking issues I don't think there are any right now. Not that I notice anyway. You can still play it with great enjoyment. I'm really looking forward to the supply fixes, because I have stopped playing the HTTR scenarios meanwhile.

All your work on it very much appreciated - Dave et all (and the ever increasing beta test team....)

There are ALWAYS issues. The marketing people may write otherwise, but there always issues. This is not software written to be deployed in the flight computer of a space shuttle. And even then, there are bugs, whose degree of lethality varies.

Thank you for the kind words - I do appreciate that, especially because I know the level of frustration you've been through (at times).

And more enjoyment we hope you'll have with the forthcoming patch.

Sometimes it might look like we're ignoring bugs, or stuff. Just let me repeat: we need good information in order to replicate these. If we get misleading or contradictory statements, well, we get misled. For instance, with the AI. There's a good part of it that is fairly generic, but there are other components which are defined as heuristics (for instance to recognize a situation as "dangerous"), i.e. "best guesses". In order to assess if a heuristic isn't working as expected on a particular situation, we do really need to have access to precisely the same inputs the AI had before it did something "weird". That's when we can revise those heuristics.

Some sort of recording setup that could record the game would be ideal for bug hunting.

It's true what phoenix says though, this game is better than ever and highly playable despite some problems. Over 10 years since RDOA and there is still nothing like it.

I have to agree with this statement 100%.

Some of the latest issues that have been brought up, have always been in the game since I have been playing, but because there where more urgent issues that needed addressing they largely went un-noticed, or where put on peoples list to bring up later, once the more urgent/annoying issues where sorted.
As most of the major issues are now sorted, a lot of these important, but minor problems are coming to light.
I actually have quite a long list of these issues myself, but don't want to bring them all up at once for fear of overloading the guys doing an excellent job on continuing to patch the game, and also the time needed to write up the problem, and produce the saves that a recent patch may change anyway, and thus need testing all over again.

I have never known a game to be so well supported, so long after its release as this one, and the relations, and communication with the developers, and the player base is second to none.

Take a pat on the back from me guys, for what its worth [&o]

You won't overload us, daz. A comprenhensive list of outstanding issues - as assessed by the community - would be very valuable to guide the development of CO2. Note I say 'to guide' not 'to direct' [;)]
