RE: Next Patch

<t> I'd like to see strikes and the home front expanded upon as others have suggested. Having individual cities strike could cut their production capacity and these uprisings could be quelled by sending in garrisons. If left unchecked strikes could could spread or cause national morale to drop and ...

RE: Naval Game ?

<t> I'd certainly like to see naval combat be less lethal in the game. Its very risky to go on naval raids with the morale penalty because if there is combat and your on the receiving end you will probably lose a ship. With the few units available and the high costs of buying or upgrading it seems ...

RE: Who Is Still Playing SPWAW?

<t> no doubt one of (if not the best) tactical war games around. A true classic but alas i don't play it anymore. Perhaps I'm shallow but its just too bloody well dated and obsolete for me now and i can't really go back.<br/>

RE: World War I Books

<t> Havn't actually read any books on WW1 but i did buy the DVD series "The First World War " which is apparently based on Hew Strachan book. I really enjoyed it and it was a real eye opener for me. I've read extensively about WW2 but never really thought of WW1 as being truly global and didn't ...

RE: Quick question about the JagdTiger

<t> It was comparable or better than Tiger 2's long 88 so it should at least have the same penetration but if they did give it the proper penetration values, i think i might never be able to destroy it. I'm already worried the movement, ammo and ground defense is too high for such a slow heavy beast ...

RE: game sounds

<t> I was sort off thinking along the lines of hearts of iron 2, where you would hear combat noises or aircraft when you clicked to see weather a long battle was going your way. I liked this sort of thing and the sound track was also very listenable. I guess this game is either different or a ...

RE: game sounds

<r> <QUOTE><s>[quote]</s>The music I turned off about 30 seconds into playing my first game, but then I do that with every game. The sounds are there, but to be honest, I dont really notice them....other then the drumroll to announce it is my turn. On most of of my wargames, I tend to play with the ...

game sounds

<t> I was sort of interested in purchasing this game. The screen shots and reviews are all very informative and look in depth and interesting but there is no demo or video of the product. <br/>
Are there any sound effects when moving or engaging or during those battle screens. Or does this type of ...

Lets face it. It is possible to achieve a string of DV's at the hardest levels without cheating in most of the DLC campaigns.

RE: Anyone got some info on how the scoring works ?

<t> There was a good spreadsheet for 2 player games done by someone at the blitz sight many years ago, which worked very well by calculating casualties and objectives held. You just typed in the score and number of flags held and it calculated a much more reasonable result and drastically reduced ...

RE: Cross of Iron Update?

<t> I did try one of the mods for the GC. ost front or dreaded 88's one but I still notice the soviets fielding 4 or 5 T-34's and KV's in every battle from late 41 on. So i'm not complaining about the AI so to speak just its crazy buying routines. Its something i noticed and began to read about in ...

<t> Yes best ever tactical war game but its been taken off my hardrive to make way for other games now (geez shogun 2 takes up so much space) but i keep a few disk copies around just in case.<br/>
I doubt we'll ever see its likes again and if we did It would likely be released in bits and peices as ...

RE: Cross of Iron Update?

<t> I Purchased COI about a year ago but gave up on it very quickly. For me the major concerns are that 4 battles into the main campaign the soviets only throw heavy KV's and T- 34's at you, which seems to be an old issue from the first incarnation. I expect large numbers of heavy tanks in Operation ...

RE: Random Results

<t> I'm not sure that the problem here has to do so much with random results but rather with the ability of units with low hard attack (namely HA of 1) to really damage tanks. i saw a lot of it in the 1940 DLC, where Belguim and British troops seem to cause as much pain to tanks out in the open as ...

RE: Price Panzerjaeger I

<t> I guess it depends on how unit prices are calculated in Panzer Corps. Is it based on the historical factors you mentioned or is it on unit stats and capability. If it is the second then i can understand why it costs a bit more. It is after all the worlds first mobile AT gun (or tank hunter) and ...
