RE: WWII - Mano-a'-Mano - HTH

You've delayed him so long in France he must be doomed. In retrospect, maybe putting more British reinforcements in France you would have been able to actually hold it?

RE: Is strategic bombing worthwhile?

<t> Take a mine that has 5 health points and produces 2 MPP per turn per health point. Left alone that mine will give 50 MPP over the next 5 turns. One hit from a strategic bomber at level 4 will probably level that mine, so over the next turns it produces 0,2,4,6,8 MPP, or 20 total. So one strike ...

RE: Pelton (GHC) Vs Arstavidios 1.04.24

<t> Did you check the levels of equipment in the pool? When I encountered this before, it just seemed the case that my army's total ability to accept reinforcements (about 250k a turn) couldn't keep up with the rate that blizzard attrition was dumping manpower and equipment back in Germany. Distance ...

RE: Armerments bug or something like it?

How many German rifle squads are in the pool? If there's manpower but no equipment in the pool, it's an armaments problem. If there's manpower AND equipment in the pool, then it's a reinforcement rate problem.

RE: Arstavidios Vs Pelton Soviet perspective

<t> Pelton, are you sure it's a bug? Check the number of rifle squads (i.e. rifle squad equipment) you have in your pool. In my games, the Germans can build up a huge amount of manpower and equipment in the pool that they can't move to the front. The way I understand it, due to the way damage ...

RE: Defender of the Revolution: Q-Ball v Tarhunnas

<t> If it's true that Q-Ball has lost less than 15% of his industry and 40% or so loss rate leads to roughly historical capacity, doesn't that indicate that something is seriously out of balance?<br/>

After all, Tarhunnas has accomplished quite a bit in terms of destroying Soviet industry ...

RE: Turn 13: Guard your ports

Wow, you seem to be a real monster at this game, particularly on the offensive. I'm also impressed by who quickly the two of you can crank out the turns. I'd be interested to see how this scenario plays out with the roles reversed, now that you've both learned a bit.

RE: Soviet Success Stats?

<t> It seems that you are trying to get at the Sov's overall manpower situation. So you can look at it two ways:<br/>
<br/>
1. Look at what you've lost (lower is better), both direct losses to manpower and losses to manpower generators. So something like the number of killed captured, plus half ...

RE: Game would be da bomb with daily turns...

<t> Yes, only partly jest. Sure, your opponent can do a lot in a weekly turn, but it forces you to plan a bit, try to project where he's going. I think that daily turns would allow you to react too quickly to developing problems.&nbsp; It would require some different mechanics to model the delay in ...

Probably a better simulation of 41 would have the Germans running on 3 day turns and the Russians running on 1-week turns :)

RE: Pride goes before a Fall Blau - 42-45 GC AAR

<t> Jokes aside, I don't think Tarhunnas has a goal of knocking them out of the war. Just inflicting more losses on the Sovs than historical and suffering fewer losses should set him up well for later. Even if the balance of forces is worse for him in '43 than it was in '42, it will still be ...

RE: Attacking empty hexes

<t> Yeah, I think an attack against an empty hex should be allowed, for the reasons you state. It doesn't make sense for the defender to be able to control the hex when there is no unit defending, but lose the hex if they have a defender. If a hex adjacent to an enemy is 'controlled', then they must ...
