Or for that matter, Space Rangers 2 Reboot, the game I'm currently playing along with PC.

RE: Just bought the game

Hope you enjoy it. I'm loving it! I wish more game publishers would see the wisdom in reviving some of the older PC games whose main appeal was addictive gameplay rather than flashy graphics.

RE: VICTORY CONDITIONS

I would just like to point out that you can still get a marginal victory on the Stalingrad map by simply capturing all of the major objectives, despite what the mission briefing says. And no, I don't believe it matters if your ally grabs some of them.

RE: Composition of core units

Just to add to what Terje posted, recon units are also great for grabbing multiple objectives in one turn when you don't want to waste the movement of a combat unit.

The briefing is wrong. You can get a minor victory by capturing all the major objectives.

RE: Defensive Play and Auxiliary Units

When you consider that the Soviets crushed an entire army group during the actual operation, it SHOULD be an extremely difficult mission. To my knowledge Operation Bagration was Germany's greatest defeat in WWII.

RE: Elite Units

I'd like to know what is required to get an elite unit. I'm up to the Moscow 41 scenario and still haven't gotten a single elite unit.

RE: My Review

Nice review. My only issue with it is your statement that hexes equal approximately 100 miles. This would make the maps large enough to encompass several European countries! The actual scale, according to the developers, is about 15km per hex.

RE: Can not reinforce Engineers

When you are reinforcing in the presence of the enemy and only receive partial reinforcement, are you still charged the same amount of presitge as you would if the unit were not in the vicinity of the enemy and was fully reinforced?

RE: AI leaving defensibly position for cheap attack

<t> Or the AI could only move infantry from a defensive position when the target is not supported by artillery. On the other hand, a tank doing this actually makes more sense, since it is a mobile unit that is much more likely to be able to damage a unit despite artillery support, and traditionally ...

RE: What to do with them?

<t> I think that the recon units are actually very useful. As has been stated, you can use them to zoom around the enemy flank and take out that damaged artillery piece then use the remaining movement to get out of range. They are also good for grabbing multiple victory locations in one turn.<br ...

RE: US East Coast, 1939 Campaign

What do the radar towers do? I encountered these in my abortive attack on the U.K. and didn't bother to blow most of them up. I guess this was a mistake?

Locarnus, are you still working on this? I know you said you wanted to make a few adjustments, so I've been waiting for the final version.

Suggestion for a new type of campaign

<t> OK, I finally broke down and bought this game yesterday and I'm loving the hell out of it! I especially like how the developers added a "Campaign Tree" in the library showing how scenarios break down in the campaign. However, like many others, I would like a campaign that didn't get shorter due ...

The only problem I have with them is that they disappear again due to fog of war ..... it would be more realistic if only the remaining strength disappeared. I'm pretty sure a real commander would mark them on the map with a big pen.

Ready to buy, but one big question

<t> Hi all. I never played Panzer General but I did grab the sequel, Panzer General II and absolutely loved it. I've always wished someone would make another PG game and now my wish has been granted! However, I find the $40 asking price a bit steep for a game of this nature. I was hoping for a price ...
