I think everyone has high emotions over this game simply because it is so close to perfection. It is like a 5 carat diamond about to be cut and everyone wants a say on where it will be. But it is the craftsman who will decide.

HI Data,
The message above came from a vanilla game. I am asking others to test it themselves. Play a standard vanilla game with ROTS storyline turned off but original storyline turned on.

I did not modify the systems text file in my mod (yet). Do I need to add the names of the home systems to the systems text file? Here is my race text file:

What was funnier was the colony had both populations Race 3 and Race 4 when it came over to me.

Mod=theme change with new race file.
My point is that I get the first parts of the story entering the ruins (of reports of new race entering system). I did not play it long enough to see if Shakturi show up.

Sorry about my ignorance but what does "IIRC" mean?

Are these techs treasures you discover during the story line? I have been working on my mod more than playing the game so I think I have no clue of the plot developments.

techs on race text

I am playing ROTS and trying to mod it. I can't find Death Ray, Devestator Pulse or Super Laser in the tech tree. Were these techs that were in the basic game and removed for the mod?

I think I had a message box up and tried to click a planet to build a colony ship before closing the box. This might be a problem with the vanilla.

Also can you tell me how to compress messages as I am worried about taking up too much space on forums.
