techs on race text

I am playing ROTS and trying to mod it. I can't find Death Ray, Devestator Pulse or Super Laser in the tech tree. Were these techs that were in the basic game and removed for the mod?

Those are special techs that may not be researched IIRC. Either that or they will be the very last thing in their respective trees...

IE Death Ray would be beam tree, Super Laser would be Beams again, and Devastator pulse would be area weapons. IF they are researchable, they are the end of the line, and will take a while to get.

You can assign them as special techs by modding the races file IIRC though.

Sorry about my ignorance but what does "IIRC" mean?

Are these techs treasures you discover during the story line? I have been working on my mod more than playing the game so I think I have no clue of the plot developments.

I use to work on mainframe computers and IIRC means infra-inter-region communications on CICS.[:'(]
Somehow I do not/did not think you meant that Data... [:)][8D]

I cut my teeth on punch cards when I was 14 years old.
I am not even sure they use CICS any more... I have been out of the field for so long.
