Training units in shq

Normally I just recruit units to shq and they start at 0 exp(green). Has anyone tried to put veteran units back into the shq pool to accelerate training times?

First council on hard?

<t> I have played several games on hard to turn 150+. Even won a bunch of them. However, I am not comfortable on choosing what is the optimal selections of councils (playing on hard difficulty and lowest tech). I have started with economic mainly to find a metal site in the territory I controlled ...

RE: How to Survive the Blizzard .. Help !!!

<t> The most important secret to a good german blizzard defense is to kill a lot of soviets during the Barbarossa offensive. A lot of German players do not know how to really turn the screws. An overly healthy soviet is going to be able to do horrible things.<br/>

RE: Major Regime logistics

<t> Bingo! Have played a few more turns and AI suffered a complete collapse with starvation destroying most of his remaining forces. Seems this may be a common problem for the AI when they start to deploy alot of laser infantry in the late game. Too much laser ground forces, energy supply depleted ...

Major Regime logistics

<t> I have been having a great game on extreme difficulty. At turn 150 my laser infantry supported by laser walkers and beam heavy walkers and tanks has just heavily defeated the land forces of my major adversary. I was very surprised by the recent collapse of its forces. After 30 turns of fighting ...

question about walkers

<t> Playing a tough game where I saw my first metal hex on turn 53 after conquering my first minor power. Being so metal poor for so long I got behind in the tech race. Catching up now but something strange happened. I researched walker hydraulics but my Model guy never saw a model appear to ...

RE: Upgrading vehicles

Best reason to replace and upgrade vehicles is if you have seasoned or veteran troops. If the vehicle is destroyed you lose the good soldier and replacements are green troops. If you upgrade that nasty veteran he gets the best tool and becomes even better.

Govenor stole my money

<t> Playing a game, doing well. Military winning battles and the economy humming then I noticed no money. Turned out one city was paying its workers 19 credits rather then the normal 5. Did my corrupt governor do this to me? I see in the reports that he has stolen some credits but did he do this ...

Seasoned and veteran units

<t> Just finished a game on hard and noticed how my veteran brigades really did extraordinarily well. Without really planning, I was very successful building up experience against minors when I just did attritional attacks without trying to surround and force a surrender. Normally, winning quickly ...

Gauss and/or gas powered small arms

These guns cost alot of research but the numbers dont seem to be much better then the automatic rifle. Is there some other reason they are better? I did not see anything in the manual.

power of internal council

<t> I am solidly into the midgame on normal difficulty. The internal council is really coming into its own. I have conquered 6 cities and formed one for a total of seven zones. I have 7 brigades deployed. Almost all offices have been formed. That is alot of leaders. Trying to improve things with a ...

Stymied at Baku

<t> Playing as the German in a server game. We are approaching the spring mud in 1943. Germans have hurt the Soviets in 41, taking Leningrad, Moscow and Rostov as well as inflicting large casualties. Victory conditions are 290 for the win, probably game would have ended if we had used the easier ...

RE: Defense of the Soviet Union begins ONE hex west of Pskov

<t> As impressive as that defense is, the Axis can grind through if given enough time and if they have concentrated enough. It is critical that the Axis does not reach this line early. If there by turn 12 or 13, the Axis could have 6 or 7 turns to grind an assualt till the end of summer (end of turn ...

building soviet corps

Mostly a german player, but wish to try the soviet side. When forming corp's, is the resulting morale level the average of the morale of the divisions and/or brigades used to create it? Did not see this in the manual, so thanks for any help.

RE: WitE 2

<t> Going back to the idea of morale and how it is modeled. As earlier suggested tactical doctrine and morale really should be separated. For the soviets, you could base improvements in tactical doctrine to losses incurred. These losses could be total, on attack or on defense. At the beginning of ...

RE: Seperate tank battalions?

<t> Actually, I think prepared infantry did very well against massed tanks. Many, many times on the eastern front dug in anti-tank guns devastated tank formations. In one of the many battles around Kharkov, I remember reading that 75-100 T-34's were destroyed in an afternoon near a singe factory ...

RE: Drums of War - No BigBaba

<t> People have commented many times that the casualties under the combat system are over focused on who has to retreat. I think reversing this might be better. Tactical efficiency always favored the germans, but the gap lessened as the allied powers (both the west and soviet) learned to fight ...
