Govenor stole my money

Post by hugh04 »

Playing a game, doing well. Military winning battles and the economy humming then I noticed no money. Turned out one city was paying its workers 19 credits rather then the normal 5. Did my corrupt governor do this to me? I see in the reports that he has stolen some credits but did he do this sabotage as well? I am pretty sure I did not change anything. Confused and broke.

Did you get a event about a union leader and do the middle option? From my testing if you do that then your workers wages go up a LOT

I don't believe corrupt governors have any capacity for 'sabotage'. Besides, if he's truly corrupt, he'd be pocketing all that money himself, not giving it to the workers! [:'(]

Foxador has it right. You picked the middle option in a certain event. Next time consider the merits of option c.

So... um... are some decisions options land-mines that should never be selected? I assumed all options for a decision were sort-of balanced to have their own pros and cons. If certain options are always bad, that just forces players into a memorization game for which ones to never select. I hope that's not true.

All the options on that event have pros and cons. In particular the other two are skill checks that risk increasing unrest - the pay rise is the 'easy way out'. The problem being that as OP discovered, the pay rise is very expensive for you.

I partly referred to option c because thats the 'arrange an accident for him option', which is what you feel like doing after finding out how expensive that pay rise was.

If you kill him he goes away forever i'm pretty sure. So you are then limiting your options in the future. If he's not dead you can have your governor secretly talk to him to organise deals.
