Love game, but wish unit values more accurate

Love the game, but think some of the unit values could be improved.

For example, why is the Tiger 1 defence value of 380 so high compared to the M26 Pershing, which has only 293, I thought they had similar protection levels ?

The Firefly hard attack is only 251, when it should be similar to the ...

Issue with 'Black horse' scenario (maybe game in general)

Hi, Playing the 'Black horse' scenario noticed two things:

1)Either though my US units are firing 'Stingers' & various other fire at Hind helicopters, they are just not getting shot down. Have tired game multiple times and Hinds just dominate the battlefield. So my question is 'Should Hinds be so ...

Should already be implemented in the latest beta (have not yet tested it myself):

Changelist for v1.05
- All scenarios revised and updated to scenario version 1.41
- Revised trooptypes and models and also updated pdf files
- Revised tanks Attack Values (with muzzle velocity.)

I made some tests and I think changing the Shot Weight with the Muzzle Velocity is an easy fix that can help to better simulate the Hard Attack value without great impact on any scenario's balance:

The old and new hard attack value is : (Barrel length mm * 2)*
(Shot weigth in kg )/300 ...

The algorithm used to model the hard attack values does not take the initial velocity into account, so the game data is incorrect.

To argue that the data is correct because the game is an operational game not a tactical game does not make the data values valid.

In any case DC4 has been described ...

Thanks everyone for contributing to the discussion, always great when done in a friendly way!

I'm no expert, but always been interested in military stuff(especially tank), so when I saw Panther hard attack
less than Tiger 1, it instantly looked wrong to me.

I don't think it is unreasonable of me to point out a deficiency in the algorithm.

Hopefully by doing this, the designers of the system (far smarter than me) can change and improve the game.

That's my only aim.

Hi,

Thanks for your info regarding the combat algorithm.

I 'am not saying it's easy to model every tank gun and I'm sure it does a decent job of simulating the values, but unfortunately it is missing the initial muzzle velocity value.

No issue with the Tiger 2, its with he Tiger 1

The Panther 75mm gun was superior to the Tiger 1 gun in armour penetration.

Why is the Tiger Hard attack value of 329 so much better than the Panther value of 245 ?

When the Panther 75mm gun had superior armour penetration than the Tiger 88mm

Thanks for all your replies.

My mistake was that I thought Island was one country, Brunei, but the east side is Dutch East Indies!

So yes I needed to declare war on Dutch East Indies.
