RE: Question about supply

ORIGINAL: Jason Petho

If you send your troops outside of the general range for supply, they will rarely regain it.

Even if they come back into supply range ?

<r> Attn K K Rossokolski<br/> <br/> Rod,<br/> <br/> Just for info - a relatively new book on the French era in Vietnam, which I've just started reading this week, is 'Embers of War' by Prof. Fredrik Logeval. It won the 2013 Pulitzer Prize so it's a significant work, to say the least.<br/> <br/> <LIN...

RE: Which folder should I place .pbl files in ?

<t> Oberst Klink, Lobster: I seem to have it running now. No idea why I had a problem before other than right-clicking on the TOAW desktop icon and selecting 'Run as Administrator' ( a habit of mine ) might have caused a problem with the game initializing. It all seems okay now, but may I pick your ...

Which folder should I place .pbl files in ?

<t> Hi all,<br/> <br/> I'm normally a JTCS player, but my regular PBEM opponent has persuaded me to try out TOAW3. He's sent me the Mons1914.pbl file, but I'm not sure which folder it should go in. I've put it in C:\Matrix Games\The Operational Art of War III\Saves but when I select 'Resume a PBEM g...

RE: Interview to John Tiller

<r> For some reason, I thought John Tiller had retired from the wargame industry, but not a bit of it, judging by that video. I've just visited his website, and am rather intrigued to find a game that covers the air war over North Vietnam - Rolling Thunder, Linebacker etc. Anyone got it, and if so, ...

<t> Still looking forward to Vietnam, particularly France's involvement, which I'm very much interested in. Jason, I hope you still have the Dien Bien Phu maps and photos I sent, way back. If not, let me know, and I'll resend them. I have a number of books covering the French era, so come the day, I...

RE: Editable map overlay possible ?

<t> Okay, thanks for the reply Berto. I've already used the print screen option, and its a bit unwieldy. I was hoping for something editable that could show up in-game on the map, with the press of a key in a similar fashion to objectives, place-names etc. <br/> <br/> Some 'admin' tools to assist in...

Editable map overlay possible ?

<t> The easiest way I can describe this is what it would be in the real world, so here goes:<br/> <br/> You have a paper map, and on that you have an acetate overlay, on which you can make and erase notes, draw arrows showing the intended axis of advance, circle objectives and write down the units t...

Okay Jason, thanks for that. It's definitely LOS-related, so that might point to where in the code the glitch lies.

Indeed Mike, that sounds like the problem. The cave graphic is still there in the hex, but it no longer functions as a cave hex.

Mr. Petho...any thoughts on this ? [:)]

RE: Cave functions disappearing in Rising Sun

<t> Hi Mike [:)]<br/> <br/> Yep, I know the old cave bug of which you speak. I think it was where the game would crash if you did cave-movement into a cave hex that had an Anerican unit in one of the six adjacent hexes. That was sorted out, and I've had no problem with it in this scenario.<br/> <br/...
