RE: Initial setup

<t> Thank you Shannon. Looks like adding another 358 aircraft may give players the other AiF and PATiF planes, but sans the pretty pictures. Oh well, this will be a players option. For me, the default profile image is OK. The planes will still fly, fight, drop bombs, etc.<br/>
As an aside, why use ...

RE: Modified naval CSV file with AiF and PATiF naval units (TRS, AMPH & SUB)

<t> Please note that this is actually the air CSV file with the AiF and PATiF aircraft added. Sadly, while pursuing the KiF mod I realise that there are other files that will need amending to bring this fully into being - as in include the relevant bmps for the additional aircraft. They still work ...

RE: Initial setup

<t> After looking at the mods folder and downloading the KiF mod, I come to realise that the new aircraft will probably not appear with a correct bmp image as each bmp image (in the pages bmps and associated text files) relates to the existing aircraft sequential numbers in the csv file. So, more ...

RE: Initial setup

Great idea and thanks. Did not think of that avenue. Done, although the first one is actually the air CSV, not the naval CSV (which is in the second post).

Modified naval CSV file

Attached is the modified MWiF naval CSV file that includes all the AiF and PATiF TRS, AMPH and SUB units. Note that the previous post actually contains the modified MWiF air units CSV that includes all the AiF and PATiF aircraft.

RE: Initial setup

<t> FYI, I have modified the naval and air MWiF csv files to include the AiF and PATiF air and naval (TRS, AMPH & SUB only) units. After a bit of an issue with lend lease ACFT (the names MUST match), everything works. In particular, scrapping all the Italian 3 movement factor TRSs will now allow the ...

RE: Initial setup

<t> paulderynck, do not confuse me with an imbecile; I am more then aware that MWiF does NOT include aforementioned add-ons. Let me explain to all those people that do not have a certain level of intelligence. MWiF does not include AiF and PATiF, for very good reasons - these are essentially stand ...

RE: Initial setup

<t> The problem is that MWIF does not include PatIF or AmericaIF units. In AIF there is a 1939 TRS for the Italians. SO it is not a bug nor a programming error, it is an error of omission in the first instance - an error that should not have been allowed in the first place as the assumption made ...

RE: Initial setup

<t> Mayhap this is not exactly a bug, but more a basic programming error. AFAIC it is too many none players versus those that actually play the game being involved with the development of MWIF. The scenario setup rules are quite explicit, use the NEXT years units. For a game that is to start in S/O ...

Initial setup

<t> Matrix WIF misses the point. Initial setup also INCLUDES the current year units - for major powers. For ex, Italy can "legally" remove all those 3 movement factor TRSs at the start of the Sep/Oct 39 game leaving them with one TRS (4/3) in the force pools. There is, however, one 1939 TRS that ...

Stacking and land movement

<t> An observation from the MWIF players at the Australasian WIF convention 2014.<br/>
<br/>
MWIF does not allow overstacking at any time. RAW 7 (& RAC) state stacking (limits) apply at the end of every step. So why does MWIF not allow overstacking during a step (example at the end of the land ...

RE: Australasian 2014 WIF convention report - bugs, anomalies

<t> Harry did turn up for a while. He had to return to Canberra early. The physical games played with 8.xx.<br/>
<br/>
RAW 7 states a major port is a minor port until repaired by ENGRs (ENG construction option). A minor port with SUBs can be port striked. Another thought here was that France was ...

RE: Australasian 2014 WIF convention report - bugs, anomalies

<t> Oops, I forgot to mention one more bug/anomaly. The CW attempted a port strike on Brest with 4 German subs. The port was damaged and thus should be a minor port. However the system did not allow the port strike to occur (the big cross not the expected target reticule. I suspect that the system ...

Australasian 2014 WIF convention report - bugs, anomalies

<t> Greetings all. Have just returned from the 2014 Australasian WIF convention. There were 3 tables of physical WIF and one game using Matrix WIF. Overall MWIF ran quite well - a few bug report screens and some anomalies popped up. We were running MWIF from about 0830 to 2200 each day (7 days), so ...

RE: What Do You Think Needs to be in World In Flames PC Game

<r> Yes most of the heavy weapons are units in AiF, PATiF & POLiF, but they are added to the force pools when their arrival year occurs. Basic rule is use PATiF HVYWEAPs where these have the same unit. I've attached a sample from PIONs WiF units spreadsheet. It's a bit small but I wanted to get as ...

RE: What Do You Think Needs to be in World In Flames PC Game

<t> Got the game. Why isn't option 73 (Heavy weapons) going to be included? The statement in book 1 of players manual page 6 - part of post 1945 add-ons is incorrect. Heavy weapons units appear from 1938 and onwards. USSR 1939 set up can have these units. I like playing with heavy weapons in the ...

RE: When? And Vichy France

<r> Some interesting points. For France to control the Netherlands means that the CW refused control; as an aside the Netherlands is generally always a incompletly conquered country until/unless the Japanese take out NEI. The probability of Spain and/or Portugal being aligned/conquered by France ...

RE: When? And Vichy France

<t> A clarification re units in vichy france. While clause 17.3 of the rules are as stated by Shannon, one needs to take the whole into account. Specifically, the second last sentence before clause 17.2. This states "French territories and minor countries already conquered by the Axis remain ...
