RE: Parachutists and supply - Battle of Giong Dinh

<t> To clarify the supply for combat efficiency is this how it works<br/>
1. Platoons need to be within 4 hexes of the company HQ (Identified by the radio signal)<br/>
2. Company HQs cannot have moved in order to supply their subordinates?<br/>
3. Company HQs need to be within 8 hexes of ...

Parachutists and supply - Battle of Giong Dinh

In the battle the parachutists never get off low ammo
The briefing says that they start low but I found that all of them were initially low and no matter where I positioned my HQ they did not improve combat efficiency. Is this as planned?

RE: Naval Patrol Deciphering the results

<t> Follow up question <br/>
If I want to prevent units from escaping from a port city via ship transport is it better to have a wide naval interdiction air directive targeting a lot of sea hexes around the port or a tight one where I only target the sea hexes closest to the port but hit them hard ...

Naval Patrol Deciphering the results

<t> Is there a way to see if you sink enemy shipping etc after a Naval patrol<br/>
I see that I have managed to convert interdiction so that I own the sea (actually lake hexes) on Lake Ladoga but I dont see any info apart from what I lost in bombers etc to Flak which I am assuming was from ships ...

Stugs - Where best to use them

<t> I am looking for some advice on using Stugs<br/>
Especially in the RtoL scenario<br/>
I know AFVs get punished in heavy urban fighting but historically Stugs were used as an Infantry assulty support weapon.<br/>
Is there an advantage attaching them as support units when taking a heavily ...

Advice on Combat SU vs Fortifications

<t> Looking to see how best to optimize Combat SU when trying to crack fortress cities (looking at you Leningrad).<br/>
<br/>
Based on the rule 23.6.1 HQs will only commit a max of 6 SU to a battle (this is in addition to whatever SUs are attached directly to the combat units). <br/>

RE: Novice Question: Pocketed enemies - Mop up asap, wait, or just leave?

<t> How about isolated cities? I was able to encircle Lenningrad cutting it off - Then I put on a strong Naval interdiction in the Gulf of Riga preventing naval resupply. Is it worth waiting to attack or does all the supply the Soviets have already stockpiled in the city not make this worthwhile?<br ...

RE: Assigning RR Units

<t> I do think using a scarce resource like Admin points could be useful here. This could be a sliding scale (ie start at 5 points and each time you designate a hex for RR it adds 1) - thus the thrid designated hex for RR would cost 5+3=8 etc. This would prevent the player from just designating all ...

Interesting question. Alternatively I could imagine to priotize some hex fields by using admin points.

Yeah, that would be less tricky.

Axis Turn 1 rule clarification

<t> As far as I can tell if you transfer SU (up and down the command chain) in T1 for the Axis the command penalty for transferring SU applies. IMO since it is T1 this should not apply if you want to attach Pioneers etc with certain units in order to break through the soviet lines. Is this working ...

Detection Limit and Unit summary

<t> Currently playing with FOW off while I am testing some strategies in WitE2.<br/>
How can I tell what the detection limit is on an enemy unit? When I hover over the unit the info box does not provide a number from 1 to 10 to guide me.<br/>
Secondly why when I hover over the enemy unit I get the ...

Scen#3 Hit Hard Hit Fast

Thanks for the reply

It helps me out since I was keeping a group of F14s back to help escort the P3 when all I really wanted to do was surge and whack the Foxhounds and Flankers
