Re: axis and allies 42 online

Love your "idiot" quote. Thanks again. From what you sent me it does sound like it is played through Steam

Re: axis and allies 42 online

It's a good start. Thank you. Still don't understand "where" I'm playing it. Does the game auto logon to Steam for a multi-player game or does the game have its own website the game auto logs into?

axis and allies 42 online

I'm considering buying Axis and Allies 42 Online. Got a group of friends spread out across the country and thought this would be fun for us. I've played the board game so I understand basic game play. But I can't find anything that describes how multiplayer games are set up and run. Everything I fin...

Location of server ... of course ... Boy, do I feel stupid. I now understand. Why that didn't dawn on me I have no idea. It simply didn't. Thanks for the fast reply.

Reinstqlling games

<t> Please forgive my stupid question. [&:] I am not gifted in computer skills. Bought a new laptop. Now have to go through the painful process of reloading/reinstalling/updating all my games. I know to log-in to "my page" and all my registered games appear. Where I am clueless is understanding ...

RE: Too bad this is dead

<t> I wanted to buy this game. Badly. Came very close a number of times. But reading all the complaints about crashes kept me from pulling the trigger. Still check the forum once a month or two. Wonder how many others out there were like me? Matrix could have made lots of money on this game if the d...

RE: Nomonhan (Leavenworth Papers)

<r> Nomonhan Leavenworth Paper is only one of a huge (did I mention huge) collection of online free (did I mention free) papers and books on a wide range of military history and doctrine. The webpage can be a little overwhelming and confusing. But spending a little time figuring it out is worth it. ...

RE: GRANT

<t> When I see/hear/read about something I know about and catch mistakes (big or small) it makes me wonder what mistakes are being made about the things I don't know much about. The uniform/cartridge box didn't bother me. Figured it was "Hollywood" (or an "extra" getting dressed too fast) and felt i...

RE: GRANT

<t> I only recall 2 off the top of my head. May have been one or two others I'm not recalling right now. <br/> 1) They titled/called Sherman a corps commander at Shiloh. He wasn't. He was a division commander. At Shiloh, Grant did not organize his army into corps. He had 6 divisions that did not ans...

RE: GRANT

<t> I too enjoyed it. As others have said, good job for only a 6 hour presentation on a complex and important American hero/leader/president/etc. I especially enjoyed the conclusion at the end when it summed up his life and accomplishments along with why history has given him such a bad rap (Lost Ca...

Good point. I was hoping since VG Napoleon was offered by Matrix so would VG Civil War. Thanks for your input.

Rumor?

Anyone heard any rumors if Victory and Glory: American Civil War is going to be offered by Matrix? Or will it only be available on Steam? I'd like to pick it up as a DVD/CD and not have to rely on Steam's business model only.

RE: I love the game ... but submarines

<t> I agree all submarines, not just German, are too powerful. For a grand strategy game like this I prefer a more abstract sub vs convoy/escorts setup. Something along the lines of the board game World in Flames (haven't played the computer version). Players would have a choice to place subs and es...

RE: East Poland

Hubert and Bill,
Discovered another "decision" that did not fire in our 4 person hotseat game … Russia not given the chance to go to war with Finland.

I'm fairly confident it didn't. Amandkm can confirm that because he's playing US/Brit.

East Poland

<t> Playing a hotseat game with 3 others. A little awkward coordinating turns but we're making progress. We played two or three turns to get a feel then restarted. In both games Russia did NOT get the "decision" to occupy east Poland. We're on turn 4 now. Any thoughts to why this "decision" wasn't p...

RE: Russians too weak in game version

<t> Played lots of games vs. AI as allied. Medium and easy level only. Yes, Russians are weak but I'm able to hold off the Germans. I research inf weapons 1 and inf warfare 1 immediately. Then build an ENG as fast as possible. Then focus on inf weapons 2, arm warfare and air warfare. I build no unit...
