the amount of units, at the graphical quality and good frames is what I'm looking at, since DW needs an engine which can support tracking thousands of objects in real time.

<t> Ok that was fun, started a new game, very hard, restless, playing as boskarans...got attacked in the first 20 minutes by Ikkurans and Mortalens, they hate Boskies or something? Had a fleet of 15, but they brought 30 ships, and that's it, who gets attacked so early in the game?<br/>

RE: Designing a Modding tool

Is it possible to re-do their UI? You mean you want to change the color scheme/look, or re-order it entirely?

Does bingling have a copy? Since he's the most advanced modder I know, he can help you debug as you progress.

RE: DW:U Tuning tips

Because of the old software DW is made with, it is limited by the limitations of XNA< it can't use enough memory for a game like DW. There's no tuning to be done sadly.

XNA does not use versions beyond NET 4.0

XNA is very limited. Sadly. It's everything that's wrong with DW In a nutshell.

RE: Retrofit hell = end game = less DW interest

<r> As far as I know, the limitations you are running into are because of XNA. XNA is old. I would gladly pay codeforce to develop dw 2.0 on a modern engine or version of XNA. XNA isn't for 64 bit and can only use up to 2 gig ram. On a large map, I can definitely see the issue. It was also an issue ...
