RE: Free Copy Kudos!

Thanks both.

If you are Steam users, we'd really appreciate it if you could review the game on Steam.

A few users have recently got the wrong end of the stick about what exactly you get for free, and have left negative reviews.

RE: AI Has Come To A Grinding Halt

Hi Alan,

I've fixed the underlying bug, and the fix will be included in the next patch.

I also attach a modified version of your savegame which hopefully should allow you to continue.

Let me know if you have any more problems!

RE: AI Has Come To A Grinding Halt

And just to follow up on that, I can confirm that there is definitely an underlying bug. Thanks for the comprehensive attachments. I hope to get back to you asap with a fix.

Hi Alan, it's quite possible there is an underlying problem we can solve. I'm looking into it.

RE: How do you attack submarines

Hi vaalen, only a destroyer which has just pinged a sub with sonar can attack it. It should be a highlighted target after the sonar pulse. Other destroyers then also have to do a sonar pulse to attack, so only nearby destroyers can jpim the attack.

We are still working on the AI, but principally this is for Skirmish mode.

If you see behaviour which is clearly nonsense, please send us a savegame and we can use that to analyse and see what we could do to improve.

If you zip the file, I believe it will allow you to upload. That's certainly the way it works over on the Slith forums.

Merry Christmas!

<t> Hi Karl,

Sorry you're not finding it enough of a challenge. The AI will never be as good as a human player, but we do try to have it give you a run for your money.

The AI in OOBP is dynamic at the tactical level, but scripted at high level strategy. RE: Best place to buy this game ?

If you buy from the Slitherine store you can redeem a Steam key. You effectively get it on Steam and as a standalone.

Steam automatically applies updates. The standalone version also comes with an auto-updater that can download and apply the patches for you.

RE: Glitches & Play Balance Problem

Efficiency and supply are very important. You can outnumber your enemy 10 to 1, but if your troops are too tired / hungry / low on ammo, they won't do any good.

RE: Recon question

Infantry have the 'concealable' trait (you'll see it if you select one of your own infantry units on the right hand side of the stats bar).

The concealable trait means that infantry in forest or in cities won't be revealed unless there is a ground unit adjacent to them.

RE: non-Boot Camp Scenarios not on menu

Hi pests, if you really want to play the other scenarios without playing the campaign, there is a file you can download which will unlock them all. But we recommend playing the campaign. That's the way the scenarios were meant to be played.

Hi 1jedi. I'm not 100% sure of the question. I don't think there is a button which removes all units in one click, but you can delete units one by one.

Hmm, a couple of others reported the same issue on the Slith forum. The 'unlock file' is not an official way to play the game... It sounds like there is an issue launching Midway through this mechanism.

It's very hard to say from that description. Perhaps the output_log.txt might contain some information.

What were you doing when the crash occurred?

We've identified and fixed victory condition error in Midway (US), Coral Sea (Japan) and the Philippines Sea. Fixes will be in the patch.
