RE: [REL 0.9.2] Star Trek - The Picard Era

<t> OMG! Elite: Dangerous looks absolutely gorgeous! Thanks for bringing it to my attention. It's not an MMO is it? That was not clear from the game description. If it's not an MMO, I think that is a big missed opportunity on their part. Also, too bad you can't create a human avatar to leave your ...

<r> So you are an Admin? Cool. <E>:)</E> <br/>

Elite? I've not heard of it. I will look it up. I agree, landing on planets is cool. In fact I tried the demo of Evechron Mercenary, and the best thing about it was that it was absolutely breathtaking landing on a planet. <br/>

RE: [REL 0.9.2] Star Trek - The Picard Era

<r> Speaking of a playable Romulan faction, you are not alone there. A poll conducted by Cryptic shows that a lot of people want that. The trouble is, I really think they need to flesh out the KDF more before they start building a new playable faction. Playing the Klingons was actually kind of cool ...

RE: [Mini-mod] Securan lifting

Good one! Yeah, I had wondered where the 'Securans' came from, then it dawned on me: Aayla Secura from Star Wars. I think the normal Securan pic looks a bit like the Orion Slave girl from the TOS pilot.

RE: [REL 0.9.2] Star Trek - The Picard Era

<r> Uh, uh, you're not going to believe this. Yes, I was enjoying your Star Trek mods so much that it made me hugely nostalgic for the Star Trek universe, and against my better judgement I reloaded Star Trek Online and created a new account and character. I have to say though that I'm enjoying it ...

<t> Again, agree completely Igard. Kirk and crew going Goth????? Please! Someone wrote an interesting comment about JJ. "It's easy to write a decent mystery, but a lot harder to come up with satisfying explanations and resolutions, something that JJ total fails to do." I would also add that JJ wrote ...

RE: [REL] TRSE Star Trek Mod v1.2

<r> I agree with you Agard. Karl Urban (from LOTR) was about the only thing I really liked about the JJ Abrams reboot, and even he was a bit underutilized. Come to think of it, to be fair I did like Spock's sarcastic "Live long and prosper"comment. lol Still though, if you take out the Star Trek ...

RE: Having difficulty winning as the Humans

<r> Wow! I finally got a win with the Humans, and in my two months of playing DW it was my hardest won victory yet. Also, it ended with a very unsatisfactory war where I lost my best admiral and four troop generals. [:(] <br/>

Again, I suspect that the Securans fit my play style a bit better ...

RE: [REL] TRSE Star Trek Mod v1.2

<t> Great Mod. Thanks for doing it. You've turned DW into one of the best Star Trek games ever. Also, I'm using both the Kirk-era and Picard-era music sets, and they are wonderful! Playing DW with the Star Trek mod makes me almost miss Star Trek Online. [;)] I would also add that the mod makes me ...

Love your SINS Advent ships. I gave them to my beloved Securans. In any case it seems like the SINS Advent Matriarchy is a perfect fit for the Securans. [;)]

Having difficulty winning as the Humans

<t> After a whole string of wins with the Securans, I've tried the Humans now about five times and can't seem to get a win. Playing the humans is great, at least esthetically, what with the Star Trek Picard-era ships, Star Trek music, and Eve Online avatars heroes mods I've been using, but ...

<t> I'm using this mod and it's very cool. Thanks for doing it. It's A nice little cosmetic mod that greatly enhances the esthetics of the DW experience. In fact I even replaced some of your images with other Eve avatars I've found. <br/>

RE: Master Wishlist Thread

<t> A few months ago I played Stardock's Fallen Enchantress fantasy 4X game, and although it's not a bad game, as 4X games go DW blows it away. One thing FE does really well though, in fact better than any 4X game I've ever seen, is that is has a really good customized faction creator where you can ...

RE: This was my GOTY 2012

<t> I hear you StarLab. Before DW, my favorite 4X sandbox games were Civ5 and Age of Wonders 2. Concerning Civ5, the diplomacy AI leaves a lot to be desired. In Civ5 you can be best friends with an AI civ and they will still stab you in the back without warning. In DW, the AI's act much more ...

RE: This was my GOTY 2012

I agree completely. Nothing else I played in 2012 came close to DW. It was the most refreshingly different game I've played since UFO: Afterlight. In fact, thinking of games that were released this year, I give DW the nod over Civ5: Gods and Kings which I generally liked.

<t> Between Distant Worlds and Star Wolves, I can't remember the last time I alternated between two such great games. <br/>

Another thing I really like about Star Wolves is that from the moment you start playing it you realize right away that this is not an American game. I find the Eastern ...
