40 Custom characters for humans

Post by myros »

Made a quick mod for the human faction, it gives 43 new custom characters (spys, scientists etc). Most images are taken from the new EVE online character creator.

Readme included with instructions for use (its easy).

Wow! Well done!

That's really cool. Too bad Eve doesn't have aliens.

Along the same lines, one could create awesome characters with a coherent visual theme using the new Star Wars MMO to customize them.

Hey this is great.

And... a much better use for EVE online hahaha :-P

Actually, I was thinking of making some more of these through the character maker, did you just color select and wipe the background to transparent or does the game need it to be white?

Also, since the game interprets each character in order (admiral1 then admiral2) does anybody know enough about writing BATCH files to make a little script that just "shuffles" the names up before a game? Then (as long as you're just running one game at a time), you could get "random" characters each time!

I could rip some more EVE character images and make the selection even more diverse.

Sadly, it would still be humans only hehe.

I suppose you could use something like SPORE to make alien character images, but that would be a bit more involved.

Thanks

I'm using this mod and it's very cool. Thanks for doing it. It's A nice little cosmetic mod that greatly enhances the esthetics of the DW experience. In fact I even replaced some of your images with other Eve avatars I've found.

BTW, I tried Eve Online last year and lasted about four hours. I dunno, it was late and I was tired when I attempted it. Maybe I should give it another try, as it is a game that I would really like to like. But alas, the game's infamous reputation for being very noob unfriendly and having a lot of rude and predatory players seemed to be born out by my short experience with it. It was a shame though, as it was visually very pleasing, and I liked the dark Blade Runner-esque ambiance of it.
