RE: Question about the tactical exercise from Battles for Greece

<t> Thanks, I'll give it a try.<br/>
The addition of German armor should give those 2-pdrs a run for their money.<br/>
Would this COTA scenario work with the latest BftB patch and Battles for Greece data pack?<br/>
<br/>
On a related note, do you know if the mismatched signature on the AAR ...

RE: Question about the tactical exercise from Battles for Greece

<t> A decisive victory at 17:25, that's impressive!<br/>
Was this with the default scenario, or with the Rangers modified as non-mechanized infantry?<br/>
I didn't feel like learning much during this scenario, as opposed to the BftB tutorial: I committed all my forces and surrounded the objective ...

RE: Question about the tactical exercise from Battles for Greece

<r> Thanks for the confirmation, I initially thought that I'm missing some gameplay commands not documented in the Battles from the Bulge tutorial.<br/>
I found in the meantime two avenues of approach with 1% Motorized movement rating, I used them to push the Rangers in the South and the Royal ...

Question about the tactical exercise from Battles for Greece

Is there a way to dismount motorized infantry in order to advance to the objective surrounded by broken terrain in scenario "Tactical Exercise Brigade Day Attack"?
Playing as the Allies, the best I could achieve yet was a stalemate.
Thanks,
Vlad

More than one installation allowed?

<t> I noticed while installing Battles for Greece the EULA paragraph about only one installation allowed at a certain time.<br/>
I would say that installation on two computers is still in the fair use realm, especially considering the common scenario of alternating between a home PC & laptop. <br ...

RE: Question about armor clashes in BFTB

First issue is that there are no "tank on tank" encounters, but instead, unit vs. unit encounters.<br/>

In determining success or failure in that type of encounter, the AI is designed to organize its formation to the optimum spread of ...

I'd like to hear more about the fixes and more about how widely the issue went. For example playing Axis in Assault on the Sauer I've been having dreadful trouble dealing with m18s, Stuarts, HTs etc even in conditions I would have thought ...

RE: Question about armor clashes in BFTB

This combined arms approach used in Command Ops actually gives a good fighting chance to the US tank company.
Good to hear the developers are working to fix the over-powered armored cars problem, otherwise it would lead to some hard-to-believe AARs ("Greyhounds chasing away Panthers").

RE: Question about armor clashes in BFTB

<t> Considering its specs, the Firefly should have a fighting change against the Panther thanks to the 17pdr gun.<br/>
It still wouldn't penetrate the Panther front hull armor, but it would work against the turret mantlet (from 200 meters, if I remember correctly).<br/>
The test results from the ...

Question about armor clashes in BFTB

<t> After I noticed in the BFTB demo the detailed structure of a tank company, I was wondering how does the game handle the tank-versus-tank encounters.<br/>
For example, the Panther had a notoriously strong front armor, but was vulnerable from sides and rear. <br/>
To further complicate ...

RE: single-player AI improvements

<t> I would like to add some more thoughts about the Close Combat AI based on what I noticed during PitF gameplay. <br/>
One of CC's strongpoints which sets it apart from the other wargames is the way it simulates in realtime the behaviour of each team member.<br/>
I enjoyed using the ability to ...

RE: single-player AI improvements

single-player AI improvements

The CC engine would manage the individual squad members, but ...

question about line-of-sight indicator

<t> Would it be possible to add something like a visual "line of sight" indicator for the current facing of a unit?<br/>
