I know there are other more important things to be working on at this moment (all the crashes), but I wanted to suggest a couple QoL changes on the Research screen.

First, the list of techs in the list to be researched could really, really use a scroll bar.

Short answer: You can't.

Longer answer: You can't and the ship control turns to manual, leading to the possibility of forgetting about the ship and it sitting idle for decades (especially if you have many ships on manual control).

Things have been improving since 1.0.1.9, so thanks for that.

Unfortunately I'm not sure what I was doing when the crash happened, but here are the logs and closest autosave.

is it just me or is the game crashing more now? i rarely had a crash on 1.09 now it crashes every 5 min


I'm in a different boat, I never had a crash before 1.0.1.9, then it was between 10-15 minutes of game play for a crash. 1.0.2.0 improved things to deactivating my graphics driver after 2-4 ...

I have an AMD RX 590 in my system and I did not experience any crashes until 1.0.1.9 and now the game is completely unplayable.

It's a consequence of moving to 3D graphics. You can't really have the old design system and still have space battles look good with the increased graphical fidelity. The weapon effects have to originate somewhere on the model, so the game has to know where it is mounted. That leads, fairly ...

This can be fixed (supposedly) by editing the xml files. Be warned the file (as in only one for all ships/stations of all races) is clear as mud, unlike DWU.

If you can figure out how to do it, please let me know. I have my own adjustments that I want to make.

[1.0.1.9] Crashing after 10-15 minutes

So my game was updated when I got home from work and it started to crash after 10-15 minutes of playing, without fail. This had not happened prior to 1.0.1.9

1. On the galaxy map, what do the yellow and red concentric rings around my explorer ships mean? Is one fuel range? The other...sensor range? Which is the larger one?

There does need to be some reworking of how spying functions.

The rate at which tech stealing happens, seems fine to me, but the amount of progress should be reduced (possibly as much as 50%).

Stealing territory maps seems to be a bit too difficult, while stealing the galaxy maps seems a little ...

Races.xml to edit races, ShipHulls.xml to edit ships layouts.

Use Notepad++ or Atom. Atom can read much bigger (and much faster) very large files than np++ but I'm not at ease with it.


Then maybe you will be so kind as to tell me how I would go about adding a fighter bay to a Human mining ...

Looks better, but...

DW2 looks great, but it feels like the few advantages it has over DWU (or even DW without any expansions) are outclassed by all the short comings.

Praises:
Graphics are great.
64 bit support is awesome.
Ship hulls having size limits is great.

Criticisms:
Lack of ability to queue orders for ships ...

In my experience with the game so far, scientists don't produce any bonus to research unless they are have labs to work with.

What files?

In DWU, if I wanted to make minor changes to a specific race's ships/bases, I could easily edit the design text files by changing some numbers.

Where are the equivalent files in DW2? What are they named? And, will I need something other than a basic text editor?
