RE: House rules for impregnable Allied armour

A fair number of people goe on about the Chinese. Cant remember any suicide Chinese squads? Apples and pears. Fraid the game is broken. Allied Abrams tanks vs Japs inferior technology. Draw your conclusions.

RE: House rules for impregnable Allied armour

<t> It was about the third attack in a row without a tank loss. I'm sure all the algorithms add up but my point is no close up and nasty Jap AT weapons are factored in at all. My opponent has learned the combat algorithm all too well and has a number of unstoppable, loss free attacks going. It just ...

Look at the bright side, at least your super mine detection gear let you know that there was a minefield present as soon as it was laid.

That is very true [:)]

Minelaying Allied aircraft - the ultimate stealth aircraft

<t> Ok after numerous minelaying missions, my Japanese flyboys are crying foul - they've not yet intercepted one of these missions. Initially Venturas layed some mines, then 4E's are now lumbering in at 7000 feet and laying mines with impunity yet, in one instance, 60 highly experienced Tony's flew ...

Its about delaying, of course he'll take the base but it should be realistic and not coz 10 4E's have blasted a unit to kingdom come.

They were disabled and thus presumably contibute nothing to the defence factor. Also any surving troops would have had a huge distruption disadvantage as well..

<t> Ah Jocmeister how big was your recon unit? My point is that it is happening repeatedly to my boys, not just two out of the last three turns. Not helpful when the results are compared to Sallies and Betties attacking Chinese units, if I was an Allied player thats what I'd want them to do, well ...

RE: Ideas please?

Sadly the game is broken, broken, broken - such realism in parts such as a certain size ship can only offload in ports greater than x, but send in twenty 4E's and bye bye thousands of Japanese troops.

RE: Ideas please?

It is the historical accuracy I want for my manhours! Of course the Japanese will lose, it is the degree of losing that is the fun. No fun at all watching 4E's wipe out my boys...this has been going on with AE since the beginning...why?????????

RE: Ideas please?

Maybe a house rule is 4E's can only carpet bomb bases with a combined port and airfield size of x at say 20000 ft? If so, what is x?

RE: Ideas please?

Thanks for your thoughts Geoff. Unfortunately small packets of 4E's still cause enormous damage whereas IRL 2000 4E's didnt exactly destroy Panzer Lehr, see my other post.
