Re: Colonisation range on map

Oh cool. Thanks. I have seen a range tool mentioned before but didn't know it had been implemented. Where is it?

Colonisation range on map

I know this has been brought up before - I ask because maybe it has been addressed.
Is there a way of showing colonisation range on the map?
I am starting a new map with low range settings and I am right at the edge of the galaxy pretty far from nearest other stars. Not sure if it is worth ...

Interesting AI chat

I was testing an "AI"'s responses, during which I ask questions about things which I am very familiar or have a lot of experience in.

I asked it about Shadow Empire and got the following.
I was wondering what peoples take on the accuracy or general meaningfulness of the response was ...

Re: UK Gamers, This Government Petition Concerns You.

Tell me how it is relevant to me, a Non-UK citizen?

It may not be.
I suppose it depends if your country has a similar issue.
Someone on another forum where I also posted about the UK issue told me that there was a similar thing going on in Australia, and pointed me to this site:

UK Gamers, This Government Petition Concerns You.

There is a UK government petition to clarify when, legally, a developer can no longer support a game.

Of course games can become unplayable for all sorts of reasons, hardware and OS obsolescence for example are not the developers fault. There are lots of cases where this may apply though ...

"Just to let anyone know - I am not dropping this and intend to get back to it."

The most definite way to say you are dropping something is to say that you are not dropping something. A tale as old as time.

For what it's worth, this brief AAR was interesting. A shame you dropped it.

I don't know if you could consider this a necro but it appears that the new Aurora update has completely broken the game for me. It the launcher shows up but when I press play it just silently crashes on the steam version (proton experimental, 7.0.6).

Hi,
Thanks for the reminder. I won't say a definite time now because it might be wrong. But it will definitely be quicker now you have reminded me. The thing is it is only really helpful if it is reliable, and I have no way of providing a reliable server right now. The most likely solution will ...

I signed up for the Shadow Empire: Oceania beta in the link, but I have no idea if it worked.
When I signed up for the Distant Worlds beta using the matrix games beta system I got a Beta signup confirmation email, but nothing from the Shadow Empire one so far.
Not that I ever get accepted for ...

**Update**
I just noticed the server has been down for a few weeks. Luckily nobody used it for a bit before that so I am assuming it hasn't caused any probs.
It is due to my postgresql server account running out. I can migrate my database to mysql, but it will take some time.

Sorry about that ...
