In DWU, I only built a few SpacePorts and lots of Defensive bases because I heard that the private economy stockpiles production resources on planets that have SpacePorts.

Ex: Underground factories (population increase bonus), Mantle mining/waste recycling (resource recovery bonus), Deep underground bunkers (Infantry defense bonus)

To Unload troops: Select the Fleet or ship then hover over the planet at which you wish to unload troops.

The default action is unload. Just click. I have not found any other way to get that prompt.

They make great colonies for my spaceports. They speed up repairs and builds quite a bit.

and their little hunter units make great target practice when those colonies rebel.
