Re: Strategic Bomber Range

I’m not sure exactly what you changed. Maybe it’s not working as you intend. But in my experience, 3/4 games it’ll happen in January 1942. Otherwise it’s likely in February. I know it’s possible for it to happen later, but I haven’t seen it. And based on how other people play axis, I’m quite sure ...

Re: Strategic Bomber Range

I meant that it’s not really unpredictable now, and most players retreat their valuable units.

I see no way in which players can now predict this since we changed how it works in v1.20.00, except on the basis of "it hasn't happened yet, so it will likely happen next turn". Unless I am missing ...

Re: Strategic Bomber Range

Hey Pete, I found details of the 1.20.00 update in the WaW Steam discussions dated June 29, 2025 authored by Death. Here they are:

Great work - thanks Bill! Not sure how I missed this.

But does that mean that Maritime Bombers now have a longer range than Strat Bombers? If so, doesn't seem ...

Re: Strategic Bomber Range

Yes, this was changed with the release of v1.20.00:

- The Strike Range of Strategic Bombers and the Escort Range of Fighters will now rise by 2 per level of Long Range Aircraft research.

They should do well, providing they don't run out of ammo!

Re: Why can't I reinforce my unit?

The issue is that it is surrounded on all adjacent land hexes, so it can be reinforced only up to a maximum strength of 5.

Otherwise you'll have to ship in a stronger unit, to replace this one while it refits away from the firing line.

Re: bug reporting

For a few turns already, the maritime bomber in England won't raid the German convoy from Norway despite being in range and there being no other units raiding the convoy down to 0 first.

Is that WAD (if so, why?) or a bug?

Is the Maritime Bomber set to raid?

I also noticed that Japanese ...

Re: Roads that don't lead to Rhodes

I see what you mean. This is because the coastline in those hexes belongs to Turkey, so if you attempt to unload there, the engine will think you are attempting to unload in Turkey, and in my test I had Turkey as neutral, therefore no unloading was possible.

Re: 1914 Call to Arms scenario: Game crashes after loading the upcoming round for the AI.

The best thing will be to send the saved turn to support@furysoftware.com, advising that it is a WWI mod and hopefully the cause of the issue can be identified.

Re: Question about script National moral

Perhaps the answers lies in tieing some or all of these scripts to dummy DECISION events, with them having a trigger of 50% to achieve the same result?

GV numbers are extremely useful for some purposes, e.g. having variety between games, while trigger %s are the way to get variety within a game.

Thanks.
It has had improvements over the years, applied to all games, but there isn't a new AI as such. I assume the opening poster is simply playing using the latest patch, and comparing it to a previous version.

Re: The New AI is better but..

Hi

Just to clarify: AI controlled units receive the same supply and cannot move any further than human controlled ones. It is not cheating here, and you could test it out by loading up a previous save and switching sides.

Re: No surrender at 0% bug?

Related to this, the US had "withdrawn" from the war in early 1946 and re-established the maritime exclusion zone. However, it rejoined in late 46. How can that be? It did not surrender, so was not occupied, so not liberated.

This is because the scripts set to fire when the US is neutral are ...

Re: DE 604: Bug or WAD?

DE 604 only triggers if the UK fails to support the Free French, it is mentioned in the Strategy Guide under DE 100, but not DE 604, so I'll get that added there too.
