Re: America in Flames, opinions?

Are you sure this is a "what if"?

Invasion of America by Germany, Italy & Japan, unless I missed something in my History books it's a big what if. Includes:

- 2 large (840 x 594mm) full-colour paper maps of the Americas
- 840 half-inch full-colour counters (CS 26-28)
- America in Flames Rulebook ...

America in Flames, opinions?

Hi,
I'm considering purchasing America in Flames second hand on eBay. Has anybody played it? What's your opinion on this game?

I find "what if"s intriguing to play to do something different from the typical wargames (for example SeaLion or this one).

Thanks in advance!

Re: Questions About the Game From Potential Newcomer

"How to learn this monster?"

My answer to this is: gradually. Don't try to play/learn everything at once. Learn one thing (and ignore everything else) and move to the next step once it's clear.

1) Start a Barbarossa scenario with only basic rules (no optionals)
2) Read about land movement and ...

Re: more than 2 player games

But then you waste space in your phone memory unnecessarily, each player has to go deleting all the files on their own chat (even if they are not involved...), you have message and file sharing in the same chat... look for the files, download...

I see no benefit in using whatsapp for sharing files ...

Re: more than 2 player games

I played once a very enjoyable 4 player game by email. We shared the gamefile on the cloud and for quick questions/reactions we used whatsapp.

It worked pretty well for us.

I have a vision too. Purchase the MWiF maps and then build a large house around them to host them. :D

Another way would be to force the die roll to have into account the right calculation, right?

Re: MWiF in new machines with Win11?

I actually haven't a clue what most of the above means... but here's what I do:
- I have a Mac with an M1 chip
- I run Parallels and emulate Windows 11 (at least I think that's what happens)
- the game works just fine

cheers

Thanks very interesting! I guess Parallels runs a Virtual Machine ...

Re: MWiF in new machines with Win11?

Or maybe I'm missing, not understanding, what you're asking all together?

As far as I know, you cannot run Intel-based software on an ARM-based OS & hardware. If so, MWiF wouldn't work on a laptop using an ARM architecture unless:
a) there is an ARM-version of MWiF (unlikely)
b) Windows uses an ...

MWiF in new machines with Win11?

Hi,
I have an old Microsoft Surface 7 which is very convenient for playing MWiF on the go. It's going pretty slow at the moment and I'm considering updating it.

I was wondering if anyone has tried running MWiF in the computers using the new SnapdragonFootnote processors and Windows 11? I guess ...

Re: New 08.00.00.00 Public Beta Update Available Now!

The way forward is
1. constant bug fixing
2. coding remaining optional rules, at least the not yet fully functional ones like GBA promotions or Frogmen
3. Implementing one-map scenarios

I'd add as first priority fixing the convoy system, as sometimes is hard (or impossible) to work around it ...

Joseignacio wrote: Mon Jul 28, 2025 12:17 am How about changing the place of the convoys, to fit what Orm proposes, instead of adding?
Perhaps, although it would break the convoy line somewhere else (by removing those convoys). Anyway, Panama was aligned and I could place a couple of convoys on those sea areas to save the day.

Re: Reverse Day of Infamy: Hawaii units out of supply

Thanks for your answers. Unfortunatelly, the DIY instructions to modify the gamefile explain how to increase the number of convoys already existing in a sea area, but not how to add a convoy to an area with none.

I've tried (by pasting the info from another convoy and changing the location hex ...

Reverse Day of Infamy: Hawaii units out of supply

Hi,
I have the chance to declare war to Japan with the US on Sept/Oct '41. I've made a "test impulse" to see what will I be able to accomplish and I see that the units in Hawaii are out of supply (so basically, I can't benefit from the surprise impulse).

But I don't get why the units are OOS, as ...

Not abandoned by players, though.

It's a pitty efforts weren't focused in having a stable single player experience, and then build upon it to add other features. I feel that before the solitary mode was polished, a lot of time was put in multiplayer (and then we had two bugged game modes), and ...

Search & seizure: a bug and workaround

Hi,

Attached to this message there is a game save. When the German player has the chance to Search & Seizure, independently of what he chooses, the game gets stuck and doesn't continue to the next phase.

Work around : open the US entry pool window and close it, and the game unlocks itself and ...

Re: Factory rail movement: a bug and a question

Thanks for your help. Unfortunately this is a couple of impulses old gamesave, that's why I asked if I could move the factories editing the gamefile.

It's a pity I didn't think of reorganizing a unit for moving the factory. It's an smart workaround.

Re: Factory rail movement: a bug and a question

Hi,
In a current game, I noticed that if the USSR doesn't have any land unit capable of moving by rail, the game skips this phase completely (preventing the player from moving factories, for example). I guess this is a bug as the game should check if there are units & factories to be moved ...

Re: Factory rail movement: a bug and a question

Were axis units in Russia when this happened, (FREX Barbarossa had just begun)? You cannot rail a factory until an enemy unit controls a hex in your home country.

Not Russia.

Well, not trying to raise any polemics here, but Germans are in Ukraine which I guess is part of the home country ...
