Very sad. Over the years I have dealt with him from time to time, and he was always very helpful.[:(]

RE: Age of Rifles Remake?

<r> <QUOTE><s>
</s>I remember perfectly Norm Koger giving his permission to download an abandonware copy of the game, way back in the day. I don't know, however, how his word was worth compared to the rights owners.<br/>

I too would love to see Norm's game remade. It was a wonderful game. I helped playtest the original. [:)]

RE: Remains of USS Bonhomme Richard found off Yorkshire coast

Bonhomme Richard was part of the Continental Navy. The United States did not exist yet. Therefore, she was not USS Bonhomme Richard, but just Bonhomme Richard.

My first board Wargame was 1914 by Avalon Hill (1968). My first computer wargame was Bomb Alley by SSI (1984).

<r> <QUOTE><s>
</s>Hello sir - Reading this line, it makes no sense, and following your instructions also makes no sense. UNABLE TO ADD SAVED UNIT TO GAME

<r> While in the editor, I have tried to add a saved unit to the scenario. I went to <B><s></s>edit<e></e></B> then <B><s></s>forces<e></e></B>. Under <B><s></s>file<e></e></B> I then went to <B><s></s>open unit<e></e></B>. After trying to add my unit, I get the pop-up ...

RE: Field of Glory II

I picked up this game and it is head and shoulders better that the original. A few years back I tried Field of Glory and found it VERY clunky. Field of Glory II is impressive. Glad I made the purchase. Kudos to the developers.

RE: Age Of Rifles??

I helped playtest Age of Rifles. I think that was one of Norm's best games (with the possible exception of Operational Art of War). I too hope someone will publish something along the lines of AOR. Loved playing it.

RE: The Operational Art of War IV

<t> Capitaine, I agree about Age of Rifles. It should be a new version using the same general setup of the old game. One thing I did not like about the original game, was that you could not save individual Orders of Battle. You had to save them in pairs (sides you made for a battle). I mentioned ...

RE: The Operational Art of War IV

<t> Same here. I have bought and played every version of this fine game. The naval rules were indeed weak, but, it looks like they will address this. I have never been totally happy with the air rules, but, they worked way better than the naval rules. It would be great if Matrix could do a new ...

RE: Old and Overwhelmed

<t> Old. lol. Just a little kid. I am 63, and I too played the old Avalon Hill, GDW, SPI, WWW games (among many others) starting in the mid/late 1960s. For strategic World War II I like the Paradox game Hearts of Iron III (tried IV, but I don't think it is an improvement over III). Thought I would ...

<r> <QUOTE><s>
</s>wings7<e>
</e></QUOTE> Yes I do. I have not looked at it in many years (just play PC games these days). Another game (non-boardgame) I would like to see redone is Norm Koger's Age of Rifles (I helped playtest it). It was great.<br/>

<r> I always loved SPI's Strategy I. It was an outstanding game. You could makeup any scenario you liked, from any period.<br/>

How about an updated version of Norm Koger's Age of Rifles. It was a great game and had an editor.

RE: Any News on SSG?

<r> In the 1980s I played SSG's Europe Ablaze on my Apple IIe. I loved that game. Like many of their games, it had an editor. I spent many an hour working on scenarios I designed. Anyway, I wonder if there might be a chance SSG might redo that title. That would be excellent.<br/>

I helped Norm playtest Rifles (I still have the Beta disc he sent me). Yes, I did get it to run a few years ago, but, the sound and all just was too clunky for my likes. One thing I asked Norm for back then was to be able to save your individual OBs so you could call them up ...

Wargame Construction Set III: Age of Rifles

<r> Any chance Matrix might be able to redo Norm Koger's <B><s></s>Wargame Construction Set III: Age of Rifles<e></e></B>?
