Re: OT: Real Life Connections to War in the Pacific

My grandpa joined the ROC's Chinese National Revolutionary Army in 1941. He almost ended up being sent with the ill-fated Chinese Expeditionary Force to fight in Burma. Just before his unit set out, he was transferred to the ROC Air Force, since he had not yet completed his college degree.

Re: Pakistan shot down an Indian Rafale from ~200 km using a Chinese PL-15 missile

OK, I found the source claimed that the longest PL-15 shot taken was 98nm.

Re: Pakistan shot down an Indian Rafale from ~200 km using a Chinese PL-15 missile

Where is this 200km kill claim coming from?

I remember we saw Pakistan official claimed that they began to fire missiles at about 180km (this is from my memory, cannot find the source now). It didn't confirm such long range fire achieved a kill.

It is likely a harassment/suppressing fire. And it ...

Re: How to determine the optimal altitude for agility (without penalties) for dogfight tactics in CMO

A test is welcomed, please let us know what you found out

If I remember correctly, in CMO , agility only affects the final POH check. The reduction in agility follows a linear function. Take the F-14 as an example: its maximum agility is 4. When conducting the final POH check at or below 6,000 ft ...

what's wrong on NATO's command cycle?

they seem to be longer compared to WP's

the EW strength is Low vs Medium

Overture
30 min vs 22 min
Low vs High

Steel rain
32 min vs 37 min
Medium vs High

CMO air to air weapon damage and A/C damage

I'd like to take a moment here to complain about the low damage to aircraft structures and subsystems from anti-air weapons in CMO . I've had multiple instances where an enemy aircraft took a hit from an air-to-air missile, got damaged, then turned around and fired a radar-guided missile right back ...

Re: Is the PL-15 this good?

Are you using any kinetic methods to degrade ground based AD, i.e. ARMs?

I usually avoid SEAD missions when in contested airspace, it is a capability I am yet to develop.
even so the Sim is set up such that there are 2 SAM Bty's of HQ-16 with a 50% probability of appearing each,
an ARM strike ...

We can still setup a what I called "poor man's fighting withdrawal tactic"

the method is explained here:

Re: Is the PL-15 this good?

Can you please share your scenario? It sounds like a very challenging scenario and I like challenge.

Undoubtedly, you are the technologically inferior side. In this kind of engagement, the only hope lies in making up for it through tactics and sheer numbers.

It seems that the side you're ...

Re: Bushwhacking tanks

the current game mechanism needs to add more penalty for mechanized troops move through dense forest.

if my memory is correct, move deliberate will take 2 min to move through an open hex (500m) , but it is only 10 min to move though a Forest hex (5% mobility)

Re: Each campaign and scenario need to re-tuned by the devs after the introduction of new missile mechanics

Hi Tcao, you are absolutely right, my fault. Here is the script with the function, (I edit the first script and when copy/paste I didn't copy the SetDoctrineUnit function)

I've added to the random function more numbers to vary the enemy range a little bit more.

Another thing to keep in mind is ...

Re: Question, unassign under attack

This is what happens right now in the unit panel when you try to unassign a unit engaged defensive.

UED.gif

The only solution is to change the defensive doctrine. Go to the unit's ROE (or mission ROE, side ROE, depends on what you want to achieve ) and change automatic defensive to "No"
