Can't Play

<t> Hi, I just bought and downloaded the new gold edition. It seemed to install fine, when I run the game I can pick the scenario and my side but when I hit play it give a error message about national tiles and then goes back to Windows. I am using windows 10 and its updated. My system far exceeds ...

RE: Houserule around Amphib Invasions

<t> Let Combat ships sail freely past forts, taking their chances on being sunk by the forts guns, but no troop carrying ships may pass the fort unless it is besieged or captured. The siege of the fort must be started the turn before the troop ships may go by, so the commander of the forces knows ...

RE: Houserule around Amphib Invasions

<t> I like it. I have been amassed at the unions ability to stage lands deep behind my lines and past my well defended forts. Whats the point of having a large number a Canons over looking the river if the invasion can just sail right by. Look at how hard the Union had to work to get past the ...

RE: CSA 2* Leaders

<t> That Assumes that people like JO Shelby will be the same type of commanders in the game that they were in real life. Yet the Great commanders of the war (yes Grant and even, dare I say it, Lee) do not always preform in the game the way they did in history. In fact I have been frequently let down ...

RE: CSA 2* Leaders

I have the same issue, and in my post I talk about the inability to even promote Generals who have risen to the #1 seniority position because they are on some "cant promote list" which is total ummm cow patties imo.

RE: PROMOTION OR LACK THERE OF?

<t> The main sticking point for me is that, for example, if you lack 2 star Generals you cant make Corps no tree star you cant make Armies. This would never and never did stop either Army from making new Units. The Game really needs to allow one of two things.<br/>
<br/>
1. The ability for the ...

RE: PROMOTION OR LACK THERE OF?

<t> Thanks for the info. I have never understood historic games that limit you by the history. Part of playing the game is to out do history. In real life there may have been reasons these generals never got promoted, but if they are preforming well in the game then there should be no reason to hold ...

PROMOTION OR LACK THERE OF?

<t> I have played Civil War 1 and 2 for several years now. While I love the game the one thing that has always bugged me was the system (or lack there of) for promotions. There seems to be no rime or reason to promotions. This is particularly devastating to the South.The North receives a greater ...

RE: Naval Repair

yes, both light war ships and raider replacements. Also in the event that one of the two ships are destroyed the replacements should be used but if both are damaged then repair should happen.

Naval Repair

I am having troubles with naval repair. My Iron clads do get repaired when I bring them back to port, but my raiders never seem to repair. I have left them in ports for several turns and yet their damage does not repair. They however do get rested. Any Ideas on why that's happening?

Norfolk units

<t> Hi, I have been playing the new patch and found that the Norfolk units are missing in the Jul 1861 start, can someone explain what happened? <br/>
<br/>
If you start in Apr 1861 and move into Norfolk, on the first turn, you get the Norfolk garrison ( which has troops, cannons and the navel ...

RE: Civil War II v1.01 Update

<t> Thanks for the info. The Norfolk guns as well as the navel engineer, garrison and the rest all appear the turn after taking Norfolk in the April start, and in the original version of the game they also appeared after the first turn in Norfolk in the July start (as you own Norfolk at that start ...

RE: Civil War II v1.01 Update

<t> I have been playing the new update, I have a few issues.<br/>
1. What happened to the Norfolk guns and the CSS Virginia? Both are missing in the july1861 campaign.<br/>
2. The re-deployment now wont move anything but officers, the ability move other things such as units and heavy guns was very ...

RE: Public Beta v1.01 Available

<t> I hope this fixes two of my biggest issues with the new game. The first was that the south could not form Corps even well into 1863, it looks like it does but does not mention the South. The other is in the game save feature. In the original game (or patch to the original game) you could save ...
