Ok I installed manually the prereq direct X despite Windows claims my version is already better... and then it works, great.

So my advise it to ALWAYS force the game to install his direct X, even if Windows invites to skip this step by claiming it is up to date.

Same problem, and in my case the game never launched, never : it says immediately that the programm "Command" does not answer.<br/>

My computer is a modern brand new PC, buyed in october, Windows 8 64bits, french langage, nothing installed except all updates for direct X etc ...
