RE: Recommended Changes to the Sonar Model

Dimitris,
Broadly speaking, you are correct. I am away from my references right now, but will be able to give a more quantified answer this weekend.

Good post. It's like I was time warped back into a classroom at Groton. Some subtle changes in CZ's may up the realism. Got people talking for sure.

RE: Fire the torpedoes! Command: The Silent Service is coming!

<t> Well, I guess this means I'd better finish my recommended changes to the sonar model. I started working on it two days after I bought the sim back in... '13 was it? I was a sonar tech in the USN (note my board-name), and noticed some really glaring inaccuracies that are still there after all ...

<t> I concur with Crazy Ivan's Sprint & Spartan inputs. I've been working on them too. His performance figures are good. I can re-edit and give you my sensor & facilities information (both real & hypothetical) in the next week or two. Making them "hypothetical" in DB3000 is a good idea.</t>

<t> Yeah, it's a data-bomb, I know. Much of the effort in the last few months has been simplifying and streamlining. That's why I took a modular approach:<br/>

RE: 936.18 EMP is not damaging parked AC

I'm just guessing here, but I would think that the skin and landing gear of a plane on the ground would act as a grounded Faraday cage, providing some protection for electronics inside. I would not make a change without data.
