936.18 EMP is not damaging parked AC

Hi there,

Under 936.18 I am hitting an AF with an EMP weapon while the AF is full of tarmac parked planes with zero effect on these planes.

The base and adjacent radar/SAM electronics do get damaged so the EMP works, so I think that this damage model was either not coded into the game or its a bug.

Are the aircraft "cold"? (ie. not preparing to take off). If yes, then it's WAD.

Scratch that, I was wrong (I had sensors in mind). We don't currently model aircraft on the ground being affected by EMP.

Should we ? Is there a body of experience from tests ?

Well given they have to be on to get damaged its probably not a major concern as most aircraft generally aren't on and vulnerable most of the time. Maybe something to add to the nice to have list.

I'm just guessing here, but I would think that the skin and landing gear of a plane on the ground would act as a grounded Faraday cage, providing some protection for electronics inside. I would not make a change without data.
