Re: A Layman's Guide to Successfully Editing the MWiF Game File.

I would love to help with composing a document to understand the saved game file. My issue as always is time, but I will do what I can.

Re: Potential House Rules for More Historical Play

Interesting rules around Norweign and Italy. For Italy, there may need to be some restrictions on what they can do. Without the threat of a DOW, they can build up large forces in Albania or Libya in preparations for a war on Greece or Eygpt/Tunisia. Perhaps they should be limited in what they can ...

Re: Potential House Rules for More Historical Play

Ronnie, at least on my screen, many of your images in this topic have been replaced by images from another game (probably and artifact from the conversion to the new forum).
Pat, I just saw this. Went back through all the posts the images look correct to me? Would about now for you?

Yes, all ...

Re: New forum

It seems to be true for forums I have recently read. It appears that when everything was transferred, it marked the forum as unread (blue) even with no unread post in it. Once a new post is read from the forum, then the rule seems to work. At least that is my experience.

Re: New forum

The box is blue if there are unread. Grey if everything has been read. You do not need to hover to know (color blindness may require hovering). Also, I find, I have to login everytime otherwise everything is always blue.

Note, your turn 9 labels are indicating Jan/Feb 1940 and I believe it should be 1941.

RE: Check my Understanding of Hexes and Sea Areas and SUch

I also believe the location of the sea boxes does determine which weather zone is applied to that sea zone for naval combat. That may not make a difference in MWIF, but it does in a few areas of the actual board game (particularly for coastal hexes).

RE: Hot Patch 04 02 01 01

Hi,

I notice when I run this patch, it indicates 4.2.1.1 (debug). Is this supposed to be a debug version? Does it have extra functionality with that nomenclature?

RE: General Questions

<t> You must save the screen layouts for every country (each "player" has there own). If you want the same layout for every major country, then you will need to save it for every major power. I find this works for most of the screens. There are a few screens that will not load on start up (e.g ...

<t> Just caught up on this after several weeks. To make up for the Russian script that keeps the units on the border (huge losses there), perhaps you need a Hitler goes crazy for Moscow script starting in October (mid way through S/O turn) that says they can only attack a hex that brings them closer ...

<t> So, I am the axis and am trying to go quickly through the EOT phases so that I can provide instructions to the Allied player as he completes all of the EOT for our game. Do you need the external die roller if MWIF emails everybody the result. Based on this input it has the emails.

I unzip in the download directory. Then I copy and paste the application file over to the "World in Flames" directory. This is what you want to do and it works for me.
