World in Flames is the computer version of Australian Design Group classic board game. World In Flames is a highly detailed game covering the both Europe and Pacific Theaters of Operations during World War II. If you want grand strategy this game is for you.

Is anyone else having trouble with reading things in the new forum? In particular, I am finding it very hard to read Ronnie's AARs.

Does anyone have a good solution for this problem?

My biggest issue with the new forum is, I cannot longer easily see on a glance, when there are new posts in "subforums". There is a small red icon in threads with new posts, but nothing signalling new posts in "subforums", as far as I can see.
Also, the meaning of different topic icons is not explained.
The color indicator gray/light blue for read/unread posts in thread icons and/or topic icons seems not to be reliable.

Well, I lost from 200 to 400 PMs I had stored, some with emotional value, like those with Bo (no longer with us) with this unwarned change.

I wonder if I can get them back.

Matrix said they are working on it but need some time due to data base or data conversions.

Is there a way to figure out which sub-forums have new posts in them? In the old forum there was a little tag to the left of the thread name, but I have not figured out the equivalent in the new forum.

Once you are in the sub-forum, there is a tag showing which threads have unread posts, but I have to open the sub-forum to see that.

P.S. What is a BBCode?

I have the same problem. To be honest, the usability of the new forum is terrible.

Not sure if this is what you meant, but if you hover the mouse over the large icon next to the subforum title it will tell you if you have unread posts in there.

And I think the icon will appear in grey if you have no unread posts.

Another advantage of these new forums is the ability to add more than one image into a single post.

Yeah it's different to the old one, just a matter of getting use to it.

I get "No unread posts" in every single thread, even those that I have never opened.

Still, even if it worked, the fact that you have to hover the mouse cursor over each of the posts to see if there is anything not read is a terrible usability mistake. You should see with a quick glance if there is any new post of any thread (as it worked in the previous forum with the flags).

It takes me about two seconds to scan down the list of posts and see which ones are dated after the last date I visited the forum.

The box is blue if there are unread. Grey if everything has been read. You do not need to hover to know (color blindness may require hovering). Also, I find, I have to login everytime otherwise everything is always blue.

That's what I thought too, but in practice it doesn't appear to be the case.

It seems to be true for forums I have recently read. It appears that when everything was transferred, it marked the forum as unread (blue) even with no unread post in it. Once a new post is read from the forum, then the rule seems to work. At least that is my experience.
