Re: Political Aspects of Civil War: How modeled in game?

To avoid that the effects may be random.

Just an example the May days.

Reduce VPs for the Republican side between 100 and 500.

The fact that it is a wargame does not mean that politics have no consecuences.

Politics has consequences in the game, but the player cannot control it, only manage ...

Re: AAR Balearic Islands republican side.

Thanks for info.

I'll fix those typo errors, although in the first patch post-release.

About Reus, hmm... I'll look into that. It's weird.

Re: Political Aspects of Civil War: How modeled in game?

Appreciate the responses, and I also appreciate that really modelling politics is very difficult, and also creates "foresight" for both players that they wouldn't have IRL

Does the game at least model some of the military impacts of politics, for example:

1. Are Basque and Catalan units ...

Re: Political Aspects of Civil War: How modeled in game?

Political events are informative.
Historical events (creation of the People's Army, arrival of the International Brigades, Germans, Italians...) have impact, much impact.

Re: Political Aspects of Civil War: How modeled in game?

Hi, Q-Ball

Is there any modelling of that?
This game is a wargame, so the political aspects are barely outlined. Of course, there are plenty of historical militias, but political events are limited to news at the beginning of certain turns. Example: The fighting between anarchists and communists ...

As I said, the west coast is mountainous and difficult to cross (there was only one road to Palma from west). Moving inland was very difficult if the road was well defended.

I’m afraid I cannot offer my services to contribute to this new promising game, but…

I am more than happy to help in the full restoration of the unjustly maligned Holy Spanish Inquisition!

Re: At last!

Thanks, iPlayer63.

The game is already in a state that needs few changes before release. However, there will be necessary updates and likely some addons in the coming months. Everything can be improved and it is constantly evolving in this new engine.

So we have taken note of your offer ;)

Re: At last!

Hi, iPlayer63

There will be a graphical option to change the flags on the map locations to red and blue flags...You know, the colors of each side.

The flags on the unit cards are also being considered for change.

Re: Question re Opponent Replay

I'm so pleased to hear that! PBEM just doesn't play well (IMHO) without a replay. My only real criticism about this engine has been that it didn't do that. I'll be all over this title. Thanks for the answer.

For PBEM the turn is resolved on each system. So there is no replay, but a full turn ...

Re: Fantabulous!

Will there be any political " events" to simulate the very fluid politics of the various regional and political factions and if so will there be any variance in those events or will they be tied very closely to historical timelines and outcomes ?

Huge anticipation !

Re: War in Spain 1936-39 : Dev Diary #1

It was never an even contest, but the disparity changed a lot.
In the beginning, The Republicans had more navy, air forces, resources and more manpower, but only militias. The Nationalists had the army and elite units, but few resources. However, germans and italians helped the nationalists with ...

Re: Question re Opponent Replay

I know it's not a Grigsby title, but it uses the same engine. I'm trying to find out if you will get a replay of your opponent's turn (unlike in Grigsby titles) when you open his file. Does anyone know the answer?

Yes, you have a combat replay each turn: air, land and sea. Although you can´t ...

There are tanks and armored cars.

Hundreds, but not thousands.

Germans, soviets, italians and some Mad Max 30´s model, like this:

Re: War In Spain !

This is going to be a disaster; there are no tanks, the fighting will be in the mountains; the Italians in Valencia are doing nothing, the Germans are in the air unopposed , and the ships are almost nonexistent; boredom is what it takes.
Unless Franco makes his foray into Madrid; the Republicans ...

Re: All things Football (soccer) related

'The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) is reportedly introducing an exciting new “low cost” video review system called Football Video Support (FVS) this season in the 1ª RFEF, Spain’s third tier. This simplified version of VAR allows coaches to request reviews on key referee decisions such as ...
