RE: Strategic Command WWII: Community Content

Is the community pack being updated to play under v1.12, or does it work in this version already?

RE: Viewing Opponents Diplomacy & Research Spending

<t> While one could argue that diplomatic efforts could easily be transparent in the real world due to the way that the global diplomatic community works, I doubt that this argument could be extended to spending on research which would be more closely linked to intelligence and spying. For instance ...

RE: HQ Combat Bonus

<t> Bill, the formula for the calculation of the an attached unit's readiness doesn't include the strength of an HQ. The readiness bonus can be distilled down to:<br/>
<br/>
Readiness Bonus = (HQ Rating x 2.5) + (HQ Experience x 5)<br/>
<br/>
Also, the text describing the Morale Bonus due to an ...

Thanks guys - really useful info. I really wish the manual was more explicit about these things.

RE: Combat Predictions

<r> Thanks Hubert - that's useful. So, are the numbers after these, e.g in the picture RESA=2, the <B><s></s>modified <e></e></B>attack/defence value associated with the battle in question? Sometimes I see a formula there, is that the calculation of the modified attack/defence values taking ...

HQ Combat Bonus

The manual states that there is a combat bonus applied to units that are attached to an HQ. However, I can't see anywhere that describes the magnitude of that bonus and how it is applied (e.g. morale bonus, readiness bonus?). Can anyone enlighten me?

Thanks

Combat Predictions

<r> I find the manual sadly lacking in a clear explanation of what the various parts of the combat predictions window shows. Am I correct in my interpretation shown below?<br/>

Also, under each of the defenders and attackers predicted strength loss numbers there are some formulae with ...

Attacking Vessels in Port

I can't find anything specific in the manual about this, but how does naval combat work when attacking enemy vessels in port? Do you have to attack to weaken the port first before attacks will do damage to the vessel? Or is there some other mechanism?

PBEM Save Game Anytime?

When saving a PBEM game, is it possible to do this at any time during your turn and then come back later to complete it, e.g. after I watch the replay of my opponents turn can I save, quit and then come back later to complete my moves?

RE: PBEM Replay Defeats Fog of War

<t> Not on my side either. The only change since we started playing is that we both had to upgrade from v1.11 to v1.12.<br/>
<br/>
I also would see the map move to different locations, e.g. mid-Atlantic, Egypt/Red Sea etc., back to Great Britain. With each map move I would not see any unit ...

PBEM Replay Defeats Fog of War

<t> I'm playing a PBEM game and have been nursing a badly damaged sub back to a captured French port by moving it slowly along the Spanish and then French coasts. This should be completely hidden from my opponent, however he told me that during my turn Replays the map moves to the location(s) of ...

It's when you want to fly recon to a sea hex and not move the CV to the sea hex.

Got it - I see the difference now.

Carriers and the Shift Key

<t> It states in the game manual (and in the Hot Keys listing in-game) that pressing the Shift key allows you to "see how far a Carrier that hasn't yet moved can attack/reconnoiter".<br/>

However, when I select a Carrier that hasn't yet moved, pressing the Shift key appears to do nothing ...

<t> I have just started publishing my videos of a PBEM++ 1939 campaign game versus Taxman66. I'm playing as the Axis.<br/>

I'm intentionally delaying my videos by a few turns so Taxman66 can't directly cheat, but nevertheless he has assured me that he won't watch the videos while the game is ...
