Automated Resource Management

I have a Caslon98%/Argon20%/Krypton20% mining station with 19200 storage. The auto manager reserves 9200 for caslon.

My Caslon11% mining station with 19200 storage reserves 14400 (4800 for trade).

Each of my small freighters can hold 1600.

So only 3 ships can get full, but only when the station ...

That the AI use what seems like a mostly random research system is nothing new and seems to be one of the main thing players can do much better. I'm even guessing that this might be part of the reason the game is "fun", because doing research well give you easy benefits over the AI.

Strange I have the opposite problem. Repaired ships by AI's always become mine.

Further, what should be obvious - the AI can't "git gud" and presumably deals with a similar level of pirate menace that the player does. The AI itself needs to be able to handle the pirates in order to become a challenge. Right now if I get past the early game, even on extreme there's little ...

Switch from Protection to Non Agg.

Pirates is ridiculous easy to deal with and completely pointless feature at the moment. If they are "bothering" you, maybe you need to stop playing badly?

The game pathing and neb zone problems does create situation where a ship will get stuck in a neb. I had one game ruined by a neb in the middle of my empire and my entire private fleet getting stuck.

"Rescued" characters from killed empires/pirates end up in a limbo state and doesn't show as prisoners, because you can't return them to the non existing owner I guess.

The popup suggestions all ignore the rules, like colonization range, attack range or construction range.

I haven't tested if fully automated ignore the rules too.

I crash over and over, I've reduced the autosave to 1 minute, because that is just how random it is, sometimes I crash as I load and unpause, sometimes I crash after 10 minutes.

It's all the Device Removed problem in the 402 (401 if you don't include session.txt) error logs I had pre. 1.0.2.7, .7 ...

The long range scanner detects incoming fleets and direct automated defense fleets to gather at the location they arrive at.

I'm not sure if proximity or other small scanners is used by defense fleets, but the game does love to put them on everything.

It's just you, I'm a peace hippie, trying to befriend everyone, but they still declare war on me and I don't even play on the higher chaos levels, now the game does come with some pretty funky RNG ranges, so it's entirely possible we could play ton of games ...

Hmm, none of the crash description matches my game issues.

The game randomly crash, no relation to anything I do.

Pause/Running Game, Tab out to go browse something in a web browser and sometimes after a while DW2 just disappears.

Go into the designer and the game just randomly crashes, sometimes ...

If you ever have behavior that seems wrong (or that infact other people do not have), close the game, steam verify scan and see if it persists.


Are you for real? This is tin foil hat territory advice. Storage technology don't randomly store data badly. It would require losing power as the game ...

I'm not sure why people think independents has no resources, that are loaded well enough you can make a space station and a big fleet from the planet resources just after colonizing it.

Even if they were somehow "empty" trade exist in the game, you don't need miners at all.

Star Marines is a crew module according to the category, but it doesn't provide crew.

Upgrade replaces crew modules with Star Marines and latest only show star marines.

It's not the only case of category problems resulting in both upgraded and latest view being borked.

In my early games I build a Med/Rec monitor stations on some planets.

But it doesn't come with a lab slot and the game doesn't really support multiple active versions of one design category, so I've set my length between spaceports to 0 and pop size for small to 0.

I might up the number needed for ...

It's a radar, during war it can warn of incoming fleets and make automated fleets move into position to counter them.

The question we should be asking is what does sensors do?

As far as I can tell they don't do anything for the ship or the fleet.

Scan Power 75,00 (no idea what that does, combat jammers?)
Scan Range 1M (The Skip Drive is 3M, so 1M is less than the size of a system)
Trace Scan Power 50,00 (ditto ...
