The tax level is definatley a factor. Most colonies have quite a high tax rate when you take them over. Unless you choose to reduce the tax rate manually to 0%, you defiantly risk a rebellion.

Just an FYI

The maximum number of extractors required for gas and mining stations to produce the maximum yield is 4. Any more is simply a waste.

It is the station with highest bonus that you get. In your case, the stations in each category that have a 29% are the ones that get listed. It is these ones you want to put your scientists on. The others are considered irrelevant for bonuses as they have a lower bonus than the ones listed.
