Coup d'état and rebellion questions

Post by Phokas_slith »

Hello,

I play as a young military dictatorship on DWshadows and my level of approval is high everywhere , Everything was well when suddenly an officer makes a coup d'état and take the power. The rebellion extends in almost all the empire with enormous troops. Many characters are killed. And finally my capital and almost all of the empire takes its indépendence and become a rival empire. Which error have I make. How can i check my leaders.

Thanks for your answers

I believe that was a random event.

What could possibly help once the unrest sets in, is to zero the taxes calm the masses. That way you could possibly keep some more colonies.

Unfortunately, as my empire was young, all the taxes were set to 0 exept in my capital. If it is a random event, it's a killing one !
is that event as something to do with the actual leader stats ? ans more généraly, is it a good idea to change the leader sometimes ?

It should have nothing to do with your leader.

I personally haven't seen this happen before, but ....

One of the espionage missions your spy's can conduct is incite rebellion. It's possible another empire was successfull in conducting this mission against your empire. Having strong spy's conducting counter espionage missions might prevent this.

It happens, just like when a scientist takes over in a technocracy.

Yes, it's something like that. I dont think it is a rival spie because at the begining of the game no empire is skilled enough for that

It's just a game mechanic, and it manifests itself differently for different government types. It prevents you from having the same leader for the entire game, because their skills would increase so much it would probably become game-breaking.
