RE: Garde Chasseurs a Cheval sprite available

I'm up dated the mod so the double OOB's don't happened. Delete the original mod folder first then replace with new version - same download link. Also added two more OOBs (AM and PM) - the Chasseurs are in all OOBs ending CaC.

RE: Regiments marching through each other

<r> We have one programmer (part time), two artists (part time), a couple of designers (part time) and mapmakers (part time), one lead tester (part time) and about 8 regular testers (part time). We have to build on what we have from SOWGB. We can't just build a new engine over night.<br/>

RE: Having some issues

<t> Have you tried the tutorial - it will really help you work out the camera etc. I'm not sure what you mean in your first question so I'll leave that or others who may have a better idea. Sandbox are fictional games just played out on the maps. Various forces are pitched against each other and you ...

RE: graphics card

If you download the demo for Gettysburg and that runs then the Waterloo game should be ok too.

RE: Perfect Waterloo Book

The Waterloo Companion is excellent - there is also a Gettysburg one too and I think a lot of the team own copies.

RE: My Waterloo inspired picture

Love the new picture! I'm going to have to get my paint brushes out. I've done a few pictures of individuals but nothing like your superb battle scenes. Very inspiring.

RE: The generic portraits

Ok - i think you're install is fine. Probably we couldn't get the GUI to switch. I'll check and see if we can add to the patch.

RE: British Rockets

It was a memory limitation - it would take a lot of memory graphics wise to show them. Although the they played a part in the battle it's generally agree it was minor I believe so if we had spare memory I would tend to use for more French Guard units anyway.

RE: The generic portraits

They shouldn't be - I did make British, French and Prussian. They may look similar as they use the same base model and with them being filtered in Photoshop maybe the difference isn't obvious. I'll have a look.

RE: SCALE

<t> I've walked the battlefield a few times myself - its not very big for a field where so many fought and died. The marching speed is based on the time we calculated a formed column of men would take over the ground - its quicker on roads. It can be modded in the csv files I believe but we thought ...

I've started a screenshot thread at Norbsoft forum. There's also a nice video by Flanyboy - Dairies 4 showing how to play a campaign. Both in the Media Section.

Something that isn't really important, but I have to mention it, during march the soldiers have a waddling gait.
I prefer to think of them swinging along rather than waddling...

RE: SCALE

<t> Hi Phoenix - you pretty much got it on the scale. It took me sometime to get my head around it to. It basically making sure the units fill the area they would if they were 1:1 and don't have big gaps in the ranks. Table toppers do a similar thing. It's all about getting it look good and run well ...

RE: SCALE

<t> Re the scale. Basically the map is made as accurate as possible. It is to scale and based on lots of research. Sprites are scaled so the unit space taken up is accurate on the map and sprites look reasonable - not too spaced out - whilst having a limit on the max number of sprites per unit ...
