RE: Soviet Turn 64

This AAR is pretty vivid example of the panzerball. Effective but pretty ugly to watch in action. Hopefully it's not possible in WitE2.

RE: No Boer war scenarios?

<t> Well, my interest was piqued by a book about the war which I am currently reading, however it doesn't have the factual information which would be required (exact number of men in each unit etc.). <br/>
<br/>
Also, perhaps it doesn't suit TOAW, given you have a map the size of Germany but only ...

No Boer war scenarios?

I have searched and gone through the scenario list, and it seems that there are no Boer war scenarios in TOAW?

RE: CFNA and Tunisia?

<t> I take your point about the Torch landings - there wasn't much combat. I mean more about the Tunisian fighting plus the usual Egypt/Libya stuff. It seems like it could be possible to expand the CFNA scenario to include Tunisia and have Allied forces arrive on the western edge of the map at a ...

CFNA and Tunisia?

I was just wondering if there was a scenario which covered both the battles in Egypt and Libya AND Operation Torch? I'm aware of the excellent CFNA but it doesn't extend to Operation Torch.

That would be really a fast conclusion to the war!

So true. I'm pretty sure that in late 42 the Allies were very much still on the run in the pacific.

Thanks for the reply, that makes sense. A shame though, I kinda like what it looks like in your example.

Mod to show unit names?

I don't suppose there is a mod to show the unit names (or something representing their names) on the units themselves?
Thanks.

<r> <QUOTE><s>[quote]</s>I got an email from Karl. He has to go to the hospital for some kind of test or procedure or something and he says it'll be about Wed. of this week before he has a chance to do his moves for our game. So yeah, it's still on, just some real life issues involved.<br/>

RE: Pacific At War Karl Japs Larry Allies

Ah thanks, pleased to hear it is still going. As I wrote, I haven't been able to find a PaW AAR didn't end suddenly and early. It seems like an interesting scenario with many moving pieces.

Am I right in thinking that there is no PO for this scenario?

RE: Soviet Bombing Issue

<r> <QUOTE><s>[quote]</s>It is a weird issue. Sometimes when I open up the manual bombing of airfields or air units, I can only access all my long-range bombers. After one bombing run, I can suddenly access all my fighters and fighter bombers for the next attack. I don't do any AI bombing, I have my ...

Is this AAR still going? I don't think there has been a single PaW AAR that went the distance (or even close).

RE: Adventures in Italy

<t> Just finished reading this excellent AAR. Well played to both players, it makes me want to give this scenario a go. That final screen the game gives you (game ends?!) is a bit of a let down though! Who won? What were the total casualties? No marching band and exploding fireworks? It's amazing ...

RE: SUPPLY- Thread number 2000 on this topic

<t> This thread makes me chuckle as it just about sums up my WitW experience. I keep trying to give it a chance, as I have a real interest in the Med and the Western Front, but I just can never quite get into it. It seems impossible to figure it out without spending more time on it than I do at work ...

Frozen rivers?

Silly question, when do the rivers freeze? I was under the impression that at some stage in winter the rivers froze over, which negated their defensive assistance?

I'd concur with that one. More hexagons to work with. I know Britain gets pretty cramped during Overlord between staging units ...
