Re: Freighters

It feels like its not very different from DWU, the whole private logistic still looks like its a fairly basic implementation. In which freighters carry tiny amounts of rescources across the galaxy to meet demand or atleast i havent spotted a freighter running a full load.

Re: How to queue ship orders?

In DW Universe you could give a ship multiple orders, for example you could tell a contructor to build 2 mining stations and a small space port and the constructor would build those without any interaction needed. Personally i found it one of the best features of DW Universe the ability to micromana...

To turnoff automation for new ships: options --> empire settings --> newly build ships are automated.

RE: Distant Worlds or Stellaris

<t> Ive played both games and i prefer Distant Worlds over Stellaris. My biggest gripe with Stellaris is all the artificial limits they put in, which in my opinion limits the replay value because there arent many ways around those limits. Another grip is that for a grand strategy game it requires a ...

RE: How Do I Protect Things?

<t> Personally i prefer picket fleets for locations that are worth defending, if the location no longer needs a defense force i can move it to where its needed.<br/> <br/> However i like to give mining stations some self defense by arming them in the early game with a gravitic weapon and couple rail...

RE: Why even have Demoralizing?

Dumping isnt the only option. In one of my games my start researcher was brilliant but had the demoralizing trait, so build a research station at one of the uncolonizable planets in my home system and shipped him off to his "private" research station.

RE: On the validity of only fielding carriers

<t> Ive tried carrier only game, i didnt finish it as it became so damn tedious to nano-manage the carriers, even in situations where u have clear firepower advantage. The damage it can apply isnt bad but it doesnt feel really aggressive. The major reason i dont like it is that carriers that are und...

RE: Automating repair

The only form of auto repair in the game is adding repair bots to your designs. However I got thinking wat would happen if made armed constructors and added to your automated fleet if they would start repairing ships in the fleet?

RE: Function of the escort class ships

<t> Ive tried to build well over 400 automated escorts in a 8x8 sector game and even then it doesnt make much difference in my experience. Even if bunch of them respond to a treat they dont come in as group and by this gives the enemy enough time to pick them off one at the time. However when i atta...

RE: Is it possible to start with one planet and a few ships?

I never had the luxurious position that i was able to put all pirates on the payroll, so i always had to deal with their antics. Truth be told the early game would be very boring to me if there where no pirates around to do some bullying.

RE: On the validity of only fielding carriers

<t> In my experience my early to midgame carriers have a talent for getting caught and destroyed by the enemy unless i micromanage them. RE: Is it possible to start with one planet and a few ships?

<t> Although you didnt describe what is overwhelming i guess its pirates and their early game harassment. The way pirates are implemented in this game is that your relationship with them pretty much only can go down the drain, even taking defensive actions against their hostilities have a negative i...
