Re: Falkland 1914

I do enjoy playing around with the ship designer (If there only were a way to import user created historical designs into the the base game itself)

What do you mean? If the designs created with the new ship designer comply with base-game ship rules, the player can load them in campaign and ...

Very fun scenario. Played as British and sunk two Italian heavy cruisers.

Re: The Live Bait Squadron 1914

Played this from the German side, with maximum forces for both sides. Sank two out of the three British cruisers. Probably could have been more aggressive, but I was concerned about eating a torpedo. The Roon and Yorck probably were more of a hindrance than a help to me.

Re: Unternehmen Rösselsprung 1942

Played this from the British side. I lost 8 transports and had my cruisers shot up a lot, but I was able to sink Lutzow and heavily damage Admiral Scheer.

Played it from the German side, sank 28 transports and 1 heavy cruiser. You really need to cripple the escort before you can attack the ...

Re: Hiistorical Ships in Expanded Battles?

Hi, I would like to pick up Expanded Battle but am a bit confused about historical ship designs in the game...I understand that the game doesn't come with any (or very few) historical designs, and that we need to create our own?

I would like to use historical designs, not something like ...

Re: Santiago de Cuba 1898 - Version 2

I played this and the outcomes felt fairly historical. Obviously not a well balanced scenario, since the battle itself wasn't balanced at all.

Re: Dogger Bank with WW2 German and British ships

I won’t go into too much detail for those who haven’t played it yet, but it was a fun scenario.
Just as you explained, I feel that the game is well-balanced no matter which side I play on.I liked playing on the German side.

I'm glad you enjoyed it! I originally made this scenario as part of my ...

Re: Custom scenarios not appearing in custom scenario list

Hello, I have d/l'd the three custom designs posted here (Otranto 2nd, Goeben, and Coronel). I then created a Custom files folder in the game and unzipped them there but they don't appear in the custom scenarios list to play. I can manually navigate in the editor to find the scenarios and load ...

Re: Denmark Strait: Formation Spacing

I'm not 100% sure if this is a bug or if I'm missing something, as I didn't seem to find an answer in the manual (updated version)

I've just completed the official Denmark Strait, 1941 scenario as Britain, and I actually had a surprising "honey, I broke history!" result, in that I got a flash ...

Re: My thoughts on the Expanded Battles DLC, as a beta tester

Thanks for the review.

As a question; why do you think that the game does not work well for the 1890's?

I did some experiments with Steam and Iron many years ago and thought it did a reasonable job. There appears to be some enhancements (such as -3 guns) which should improve matters.

The big ...

Re: Cant load Custom Design in QUick Battle

Many historically accurate ship designs are illegal for one reason or another. This doesn't matter in the scenarios but Quick Battles, like campaign mode, only allows legal designs.

Dogger Bank with WW2 German and British ships

This is another version of the Dogger Bank Scenario, this time with WW2 squadrons on both sides. The only aircraft are a handful of German WW1 Zeppelins. This is a fairly balanced scenario. The R-Class battleships in the AI controlled British supporting force are surprisingly effective. Only stock ...

Admiral Raeder's Day Dream: Dogger Bank with WW2 German Ships

This is a silly, unbalanced scenario where a WW2 German squadron goes up against Admiral Beatty's battlecruisers. It only uses stock ship designs. It can be fun to blow the British out of the water as the Germans.

Edit: anyone can repost, modify, etc. this scenario anywhere. I don't care about ...

Re: No Aircraft in 1920 and 1935 Starts - 1.01.22

Now that my NDA has lifted, I can tell you that, in the latest beta of the core game, 1.01.30, this does not seem to be a problem anymore.

My thoughts on the Expanded Battles DLC, as a beta tester

I was a beta tester for the Expanded Battles DLC. It is releasing in a couple days, and they've now lifted the NDA on me, so I thought I would share my thoughts based on my experience testing, going over what I like about the DLC, along with what I feel like the biggest limitations to it are.

Re: Ship Design for Expanded Battles

- Does the modelling of deck slope assume the same thickness as the flat deck?
- Does armour thickness assume Krupp Cemented, allowing "order of merit" to be used to establish equivalent thickness for older types (e.g. Harvey, Nickel Steel, Compound, Iron etc.)

I think I can answer these two ...
