Re: Old Gamer New to WITP AE - Questions

OP here. Still playing the game that prompted my original post. Thought I would give an update on my game.

I am now in mid May. The Japanese have pretty much taken the usual stuff. Singapore fell on Feb 14. Bataan fell on March 17. Batavia fell on May 5. Palembang still holds out. Not because I ...

Re: Old Gamer New to WITP AE - Questions

Just thought I would post a short status update on how things are going.....

I managed to get a lot out of Malaysia and the Philipines ship wise and air squadron wise. I left the troops there to slow the Japanese down as much as possible. Singapore may hang on for a few more weeks, but all the ...

Re: Old Gamer New to WITP AE - Questions

Don't attack in China, use your supplies to repair devices. Do NOT give any Chinese units replacements until their devices are all repaired unless they have been bought out and have made it to India. Before buying them out, make sure that the units are trashed so they are cheaper. The Chinese ...

Re: Old Gamer New to WITP AE - Questions

Congratulations on sinking the Ise but what was your cost? Those Dutch ships are somewhat expendable but they are still useful ships.

I lost the CLs Java and DeRuyter. I did not intend to do that. My recon saw several invasion fleets heading for Singawang and Kuchin. I decided to ...

Re: Old Gamer New to WITP AE - Questions

I'm back again. First off thanks to all your help. It really help a lot. I do read the manual and research answers, but your added tips and tricks help.

From my last post of questions:
1) Picking up troops using air does work, but it is slow. I got several groups of PAs just going back and forth to ...

Re: Old Gamer New to WITP AE - Questions

I tried using amphibious and regular transport missions, but neither worked. This led me a question. Does changing a TF mission mid stream matter at all? In the case of Mataram, I had both units set to strategic move and had a tf marked as transport come along. All were under the control of Dutch ...

Re: Old Gamer New to WITP AE - Questions

I went into this game thinking I could avoid just handing over a mountain of Supplies and Fuel to the Japanese from Manila, Honk Kong, and Singapore, but it looks like I have to just turn over the keys to the warehouses to them. I don't want to play the Sir Robin strategy, but I want to save all the ...

Re: Old Gamer New to WITP AE - Questions

Yaab,
Thanks for the reply. That is a good tip regarding the detection levels of task forces.

Remember, Luzon is an island and its interior is connected by road and rail. Thus, if you have small cargo TF with supplies you can unloada them in other Luzon ports like Lucena and Batangas. The code ...

Re: Old Gamer New to WITP AE - Questions

First off, Major Thanks for all here who replied. It helped me a lot. I started a game and have now run across a few issues I do not see how to solve despite reading up on it. I am playing the full campaign starting Dec 8th.

1) I am having a hard time trying to pick up troops from outlying islands ...

Old Gamer New to WITP AE - Questions

As the title says, I am an old gamer (mostly biard but early GG games as well), but new to WITP:AE.

I have watched the tutorial videos from StrategyGameingDOJO and going through his Let's Play videos. Also watching The Combined Fleet Tutorials as well.

In preparation for my first campaign game vs ...

New player and completely lost

I bought this game and ready to dive right into it, but to be honest, the amount of stuff in this game is daunting to say the least.

I did play the old War in Russia a lot, so I familiar with some concepts. However, this is completely overwhelming. I do have the large printed version of the manual ...

Re: TOAW 4 Campaign for South Viet Nam

Hello all!

I am just getting into TOAW IV and found this scenario in the graphics folder. However the full briefing file is not included. Does anyone know where I can find that file?

I played a scenario like this on previous versions of the game and remember some things like commitment levels ...

RE: WITE2 Full Manual

Erik,

I am not sure where, or if, this is covered somewhere. I ordered WITE2 physical copy and full printed manual.

Is there a ship date for the box and manual?

Thanks in advance.

RE: WitE 2

<t> I don't post much on these forums, but I would also purchase a printed/bound manual.<br/>
<br/>
If you are tracking votes, it doesn't need to be released before the game releases either.<br/>
<br/>
Just my 2 cents worth.<br/>

Anxiously awaiting this release. I played the original War ...

Upvote for Vietnam: 65 - 75 by Victory Games. Covers the whole war and has a variety of scenarios. Not a short or very simple game, but well worth the effort.

New Gamer to WITE Series

<t> Old time gamer here - played hundreds of boardgames and use to play the old War in Russia pc game. I bought this series and am wondering what is the best way to get into this game without spending a lifetime on the learning curve (talking about learning the game, not best strategies in ...
