New Gamer to WITE Series

Old time gamer here - played hundreds of boardgames and use to play the old War in Russia pc game. I bought this series and am wondering what is the best way to get into this game without spending a lifetime on the learning curve (talking about learning the game, not best strategies in particular).

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I think the small scenario "Road to" are excellent choices for start.

They are well-balanced, if you play german side and really fun. They have a very manageable numbers of units (one army group).

Road to leningrad especially is my favorite.

- Play 1 or 2 Road to scenarios
- Scan the updated manual
- Read the 'Best Of' Forum post series, they are really good
- Scan the condensed rules (see sticky in scenario/modding section)
- Read a few AAR, some of them have some comments especially for newer players

If Axis has your interest:
- Play the grand campaign for a few turns against yourself, before playing against human

- Start game against human
- Write AAR to get feedback
