Defense values are the chance real damage gets converted to effectiveness loss. But how the real damage sustained by a unit is calculate?

But I think it's a problem with the file scripts and the beta 8U6 version of my PC.

You are way off scope of the ranges for the game. Numbers should usually be between 1 and 10 for combat values. You must be on a previous version because the beta (that I remember) limits ranges.

I use 8U2. I got 29 by the advancements.
