Re: The World at War ELO Tournament

A stupid question, but alas for me a very topical one: how do I resign? I don't seem to find the button which allows me to do this :D

You have red cross button right of name of the games in main menu.

Again my advise to you. You never can learn how to play axis, playing axis. To understand ...

Re: The World at War ELO Tournament

New ELO game:

1939 World at War scenario.

CapitaineHaddock(Axis) vs Laurenz (Allies).

Standard ELO rules + no softlocking with non-at war majors.

Game ended. CapitaineHaddock (axis) resigns october 1942.

My second ELO game and actually the first one I started. This time, I was also up ...

Re: The World at War ELO Tournament

2 game stated DmitryN (axis) Redshirt (alies) and DmitryN (allies) CapitanHafock (axis) asked them both about having enough experience. Both told they have. I doubt but nobody else want to play

CapitaineHaddock (axis) vs DmitryN (allies). DmitryN wins, axis resigns April 1941.

A small AAR:

Request: More accessible ingame info (scripts, setups etc.)

Hi everyone! For those of us who like to play an occasional competitive PBEM/ELO game, but don't have our entire lives to commit, I am frustrated by the time and energy spent seeking information on various scripts, mobilization triggers, setups etc.
It is certainly OK to play casually for those who ...

Re: Arctic. Why is it always frozen?

Oh that. The land. I guess because it's in the Arctic weather zone and the devs wanted attacks to be difficult up there. Frozen> E.G. Permafrost country.

I know the Germans and Finns up in the Pechenga area had a helluva time building redoubts up there on the approaches to Murmansk even in the ...

Re: Arctic. Why is it always frozen?

Murmansk is always icefree, and Petsamo clear in summer and fall. Even the northern fjords of Norway and the White Sea get clear by June.

Is something different happening in your game?

I mean the land hexes in the northernmost parts of the map, including Murmansk, the North of Norway etc ...

Re: Arctic. Why is it always frozen?

The icecap always fluctuates depending on the season.
In fact, I use the ice at times to hide my German U-boats and Cruisers to duck and sit out the RN at times.

Not sure what your saying about the fact that the ice never changes unless your talking about the summer season remnant at the top of ...

Re: Arctic. Why is it always frozen?

Good to hear you've seen some action. I never play the AI, only humans. I am aware of the bombers, but otherwise I've never seen anything. I guess it shows my lack of experience, but my question is still valid: why is it always frozen?

Hi! I took the axis game. I'm an intermediate player with a fair deal of experience. ELO is fine if you like.

Arctic. Why is it always frozen?

The Arctic theater is permanently frozen, even during summer months. Besides not reflecting the actual weather conditions, this basically means nothing will ever happen up North. In real life, the Arctic theater was heavily contested and pretty large formations were engaged. The Germans and Finns ...

RE: Anyone seen any action in the Pacific in competitive games?

<t> Right, thanks for your answer. I was thinking the Pacific may be underrated. After all, so many of those Islands are NM objectives and stay so after changing hands. Would be interesting to hear the experience of someone who has actually tried a "Pacific First" approach. I guess what it ...

RE: Looking for pbem players

<t> Hi<br/>
<br/>
I played EiA back in the 20th Century. Great game. I bought the EiA computer game many years ago, but remember it was too buggy. I consider I did it for the cause and figured there would be enough fanatics out there to eventually get a playable version. Are you suggesting this ...

Anyone seen any action in the Pacific in competitive games?

<t> Hi community!<br/>
<br/>
Played many PBEM games in the SC series over the years. AI doesn't really interest me other than as a learning tool. <br/>
<br/>
Any experience with competitive games actually being decided elsewhere than Russia/Middle East/India? IMO it tends to become a race for ...
