RE: Move Vichy Units to map error

<t> Thanks! I thought it would be something like that, but the game appeared to be not letting me move units to the closest legal hex, so I was baffled. I guess you have to be very precise with locating the unit in the exact middle of the hex, although I don't recall the game being this finicky with ...

Move Vichy Units to map error

<t> I've run into a possible glitch with the "VF Move Land/Air Axis" Subphase. Reading the players manual, I think the game is trying to determine what to do with Vichy units on the production pool, but it is either freezing, or there is a form not displaying, or I am lacking understanding of what ...

RE: 3.1.0.1 Territorial Land Movement

The rule doesn't specifically mention desert mountain hexes, so I'd guess they still cost 2MP for a TERR.

RE: 2.9.1.4 Neutral Free France reverts to Germany

<t> This has a very familiar sound to it.<br/>
<br/>
In the game I'm currently involved in, Free France did not come into existence after all of its minor country groups went Vichy, which is consistent with RAW 7. The game offered a cryptic message about New Caledonia becoming the Free French home ...

RE: Synchronization Issues

I believe MWiF allows a maximum of 60 hexes per Rail Move. So if Vornoezh is more than 120 hexes away from Vladivostock, it would cost 3 rail moves.

RE: Austian Oil AWL

<t> You are using the oil rule, so if that Austrian oil was expended for re-organization, it won't show up in the production summary. Threw me for a loop the first time I noticed it as well.<br/>

Temporary overstacking during land movement

Page 147 of the players manual states that land units can be overstacked temporarily and describes as an example a process by which French units in the Maginot Line can be re-arranged.

However, I have never been able to get this to work. Is there a trick to doing this?

I'll edit this post and try to re-upload my attachment.

EDIT: OK, it looks like the file can be downloaded now.

RE: MWiF allows FTR overstack after A2A abort return to base

ORIGINAL: paulderynck

Could it be there is an HQ or an Eng in the hex with the 2 FTRs?

No HQ or Eng. If you proceed with game from where I saved it, the game will eventually prompt you to destroy one of the FTRs.

MWiF allows FTR overstack after A2A abort return to base

<t> The attached game file shows 2 FTRs in the hex SW of Brussels. This violates stacking limits. I don't recall precisely, but I believe the FTR returned to base after choosing to abort from the A2A combat (I don't think it was a combat result abort). The "crosshairs" symbol appeared when I moved ...

RE: Altering the route of a convoyed resource

<r> OK, a bit more tinkering and I realize that the help files are not of much use if you don't read them completely, lol.<br/>

When I was trying to implement the altered routing, I was clicking once each on the new sea areas and then hitting "recalculate". However, I should have been <B><s ...

RE: Altering the route of a convoyed resource

<t> I'm trying to get the Kimberly resource to go through Cape St Vincent instead of the North Atlantic (where it ends up blocking one of the Venezuelan oil resources). I think part of the problem is trying to do this during set up. Once in the actual game, the right-click on "North Atlantic" works ...

Altering the route of a convoyed resource

I'm trying to alter the route of a convoyed resource, per the help file instructions, which tell me to right click on the sea area I want to change in the route section of the Production Summary & Details form. This actually does nothing. What am I missing?

RE: Playable without graphics card?

<t> Thanks Dave.<br/>
<br/>
The system requirements in the manual are different than the ones posted on the website - the website refers to "32MB graphics card"<br/>
<br/>
So I guess my concern is that when the game installs, it will attempt to detect a graphics card on my system (or a certain ...

Playable without graphics card?

Is MWiF playable on a computer with no graphics card (i.e. just motherboard integrated graphics)?
