I got the exact same error message. I'm running version Phoenix 2.40.084, but not on Steam. I run it locally on my hard drive using Windows 11. So what was the fix?

I've been running into this issue recently. It occurs during AI turns. Sometimes I can get through it by not alt+tabbing while the AI does their turns meaning I can play on, other times it just crashes regardless, like this one.

For model graphics,which are done in the event, are you using "ExecSFTGraphics {deprecated]"? If so, can you try the other one, "ExecSFTGraphics" instead? The deprecated one shouldn't really be used. It has been a while since I looked at these events, but I think that I did try the no deprecated ...

Stringlists 90 to 94 looks similar.

They all have the graphics name, of the two relevant types.

Changing the path, in the event, and the graphics names here, should do the trick... I hope.


That's the weird issue; I'd found the Stringlists before (but not the events), but I know the issue does ...

Making all special researches available for all players should be simple. Just set the researches needed to have them to having been learned, by each regime. This is done in the Reg part of the editor, under each regime, you'll have the researches.... set them as shown here:

Actually your graphics issues may be more due to the BaseColMod choice for the SFT, than any mistake you are making in saving the graphics. You can correct, or experiment with it here:

Possibly, as without any scripts the only way that countries will be able to enter the war is either via the diplomacy mechanism or by being declared war upon.

You might have to approach those aspects with a bit of trial and error!

Do you mean that you want to remove literally all events, or just some of them that include randomisation?

The former is easy, the latter a lot of work!

If it's the former, the easiest thing to do would be to copy the files in the game's template folders and paste them over the relevant modded ...
