Hard to give any specific advice as every game is different, but here are my 5 cents regarding what to do in Italy as the allied in a GC. The reason why you would want to go for Corisa and Sardinia is because it opens up most of the italian west coast, as well as southern france as possible invasion...

Make sure you put them on refit on a national supply source, IE Frankfurt, Berlin or Vienna, and they will refill quickly if you have the production in the pool.

Don't you get two AOG that fly f-4 in august as the Germans as reinforcements? In my game with theater boxes locked they are in west Europe.

Bah i wanted to the some american swim back to the corsica. As someone with just a vauge understanding of VPs in this game. Will the casualties the allies sustained be worth it concidering his early capture of Rome? Seems like the allies got a bloodied nose from that forward landing.

One side can run it on Steam yes. You just press the next turn when you are done and a new save file will be created which you send (perhaps by email) to your opponent.
